Nässjö
Nässjö () is a locality and the seat of Nässjö Municipality, Jönköping County, Sweden with 31,782 inhabitants in 2024. History For many years, Nässjö was a rural village with agriculture as the dominant occupation. The turning point was the construction of the Swedish railway system. The southern main line railway, finished in 1864, passed through Nässjö. Later, other railways were inaugurated, whereby Nässjö, due to its geographical location in the country, became an important junction. A line to Katrineholm was opened in 1874, and that year also the opening of the Oskarshamn line; the one to Halmstad in 1882; to Kalmar in 1914. Today, Nässjö is the only Swedish junction where railways in six different directions meet. As a result, industries moved to Nässjö, and the population increased. Svenska Basketligan, or the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), is the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The league was originally established in 1992 as Basketligan and was known as that prior to the season of 2006–07, but when the Sweden, Swedish company Obol Investment signed an agreement with the Swedish Basketball Federation in early October 2006, the league was renamed Obol Basketball League (OBL). In January 2007 the name was changed to Ligan, meaning simply the League. Alexander Lindqvist (born 12 February 1991) is a Swedish basketball player and a member of the Swedish national team. He won the Swedish championship in 2013 and 2019 as a member of the Södertälje Kings. Playing career In October 2019, Lindqvist signed with LEB Oro club BTTB Mallorca-Palma. Zarko Jukic (; born 28 July 1993) is a Danish professional basketball player and a member of the Danish national team. Club career Jukic started his career in Denmark with the Hørsholm 79ers in 2011 and played there until 2014.
