History KVFM signed on the air November 14, 1958. It was owned by the San Fernando Valley Broadcasting Company, a business of Walter Gelb and Ted Bolnick. KVFM, "Valley FM", was the first FM radio station for the San Fernando Valley, maintaining studios in the Porter Hotel. Spectra Properties acquired the station in 1960. In 1972, Spectra attempted to sell KVFM to West Coast Media, owners of KTBT 94.3 FM in Garden Grove; the sale was not consummated. Pacific Western Broadcasting bought KVFM in 1974 and sold it to Buckley Broadcasting in 1976. KBUE (105.5 FM, "Que Buena 105.5/94.3 FM") is a commercial radio station licensed to Long Beach, California, that serves the Los Angeles metropolitan area. It is owned by Estrella Media and airs a Regional Mexican radio format. Studios and offices are on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. KBUE's transmitter is located off East University Avenue in Compton, California. It has an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts, making it a Class A station. (Most other major Los Angeles area stations have more powerful Class B signals with their towers high up on Mount Wilson.) KRQB (96.1 MHz) is one of four Southern California FM radio stations branded as "Que Buena" and which all play Regional Mexican music. Its owner is Estrella Media. KRQB shares the same weekday morning show as the three Los Angeles-area Que Buena stations, but has local DJs the rest of the day. KRQB is licensed to San Jacinto, California, and serves the Riverside- San Bernardino radio market. KRQB has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 1,400 watts, as a Class A station. Its transmitter is off Pisgah Peak-Oak Glen Road in Yucaipa. History In 1990, the station signed on as KWRP. It programmed an adult standards music format and was owned by the H.S.C.
