Premier A Slovenian Basketball League
The Slovenian Basketball League (), abbreviated as 1. SKL and known as the Liga OTP banka due to sponsorship reasons, is the top-level professional men's basketball league in Slovenia. The league is operated by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia and consists of eleven clubs. The most successful team is KK Cedevita Olimpija, Cedevita Olimpija with 22 titles. History The league was founded in 1991, shortly after Slovenia's independence from SFR Yugoslavia. Before the independence, the Slovenian Republic League was played as a second or third level of Yugoslav basketball. ABA League
The ABA League, renamed the ABA League First Division in 2017, is the top-tier regional men's professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). Due to sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as the Goodyear League from 2001 to 2006, the NLB League from 2006 to 2011, and as the AdmiralBet ABA League from 2021. The league coexists alongside scaled-down national leagues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. All but one of Adriatic League clubs join their country's own competitions in late spring after the Adriatic League regular season and post-season have been completed. Stipe Modrić
Stipe Modrić (; born May 8, 1979) is a Slovenian professional basketball coach who is the assistant coach for Ilirija of the Slovenian Second League. Born in Sinj to a Croat father, Modrić played at the position of forward and power forward. During his career, he had played for Alkar, Union Olimpija, Ludwigsburg, Geoplin Slovan, Cedevita, Anwil Włocławek and Astrum Levice. On December 11, 2012, he returned to Geoplin Slovan. Modrić won the 2000–01 and 2001–02 Slovenian national championship with Olimpija. Tivoli Hall
Tivoli Hall () is a complex of two multi-purpose indoor sports arenas in the Tivoli City Park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The complex was opened in 1965. The larger, ice hockey arena has a seating capacity of 6,800 people and is the home of HK Olimpija ice hockey club. Saša Dončić
Saša Dončić ( sr-Cyrl, Саша Дончић; born June 14, 1974) is a Slovenian professional basketball coach and former player. He last served as head coach of Ilirija in the Slovenian League. He is the father of NBA player Luka Dončić. As a player, Dončić started his professional career in Ilirija, Ljubljana in the 1992–1993 season and played in several clubs in Slovenia throughout his career that included international club appearances in Serbia and France. He mainly played at the shooting guard and small forward positions, but could also play at power forward if needed.
