KBXR
KBXR (102.3 FM), often referred to simply as BXR, is a local radio station located on Old Highway 63 in Columbia, Missouri. It airs an adult album alternative format with a mixture of alternative rock, classic rock, and more. Features 102-3 BXR interviews bands or singers playing in the city's various locations. These interviews are conducted "Live In Studio X." Past Studio X guests include Joe Strummer of The Clash, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Dave Matthews, Wilco, and Sheryl Crow (who attended the University of Missouri in Columbia). In 2005, KBXR released a CD compilation of songs recorded at the station, calle ''Live from Studio X'' Proceeds from the CD sales went to the Central Missouri Humane Society. KOQL
KOQL (106.1 FM, "Q 106.1") is a top 40 (CHR)-formatted radio station owned by Cumulus Media. The station broadcasts from Columbia, Missouri, with an ERP of 69,000 watt (69 kW). The station serves the Mid-Missouri area. Its transmitter is located about 20 miles west of Jefferson City. The station uses the slogan "All the hits." The station airs the syndicated The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show and mostly out-of-town DJs. Only the afternoon shift is broadcast locally. KFRU (1400 AM broadcasting, AM) is a radio station located in Columbia, Missouri. Its programming format consists primarily of news, talk and sports. The station is licensed to Cumulus Media. The station is also audible on broadcast relay, translator K255DJ 98.9 FM in Columbia. History KFRU was founded in Bristow, Oklahoma, by E.H. Rollestone, in January 1925. The Blue Note (Columbia, Missouri)
The Blue Note is a music venue in Columbia, Missouri, and is a contributing property to the North Ninth Street Historic District. It was established in 1980 by Richard King and Phil Costello. It is famous for the legal case Bensusan Restaurant Corp. v. King over naming use on the internet. The original Blue Note was located at 912 Business Loop 70 East and moved to its Ninth Street location (a restored vaudeville theater) in the early 1990s.
