KAYU-TV
KAYU-TV (channel 28) is a television station in Spokane, Washington, United States, affiliated with Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox and MyNetworkTV. Owned by Imagicomm Communications, the station has studios on South Regal Street in Spokane, and its transmitter is on Krell Hill southeast of the city. History After beating out Springfield Television for the construction permit in 1981, Spokane native Robert Hamacher, a former employee of KREM-TV and later an executive at KSTW in Tacoma, put KAYU on the air on October 31, 1982. The first program to air was an episode of ''Rawhide (TV series), Rawhide''. It was Spokane's first independent station and the first new commercial station to sign on in the area since KREM-TV began broadcasting 28 years earlier. KFFX-TV
KFFX-TV (channel 11) is a television station licensed to Pendleton, Oregon, United States, serving the Tri-Cities, Washington, as an affiliate of Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox and Telemundo. It is the only major commercial broadcasting, commercial station in the Yakima, Washington, Yakima–Tri-Cities media market, market that is licensed in Oregon. Owned by Imagicomm Communications, KFFX-TV has studios on Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick, Washington, and its transmitter is located in the Umatilla National Forest east of Pendleton. Like the other stations in this vast and mountainous area, KFFX-TV's transmitter is not strong enough to cover the entire market. KCYU-LD (channel 41) is a low-power television station in Yakima, Washington, United States, affiliated with Fox and Telemundo. The station is owned by Imagicomm Communications, and maintains studios on West Lincoln Avenue in Yakima; its transmitter is located on Ahtanum Ridge. Although considered a separate station in its own right, KCYU-LD is a semi-satellite of Pendleton, Oregon–licensed KFFX-TV (channel 11), which serves the Tri-Cities area. KCYU-LD simulcasts all Fox network and syndicated programming as provided through its parent, and the two stations share a website. However, KCYU-LD airs separate legal identifications and commercial inserts. KFFX-TV serves the eastern half of the Tri-Cities–Yakima market while KCYU-LD serves the western portion. Northwest Broadcasting, Inc. was a television broadcasting company based in Okemos, Michigan, United States, a suburb of Lansing. KSKN
KSKN (channel 22) is a television station in Spokane, Washington, United States, affiliated with The CW. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside CBS affiliate KREM (channel 2). The two stations share studios on South Regal Street in the Southgate neighborhood of Spokane; KSKN's transmitter is on Krell Hill to the southeast. KSKN began broadcasting full programming in December 1983 as an independent station and remained on the air for less than four years, during which two successive owners filed for bankruptcy. It did not return to the air until 1994, airing home shopping programs until KREM took control of its operations in 1997. KREM-TV
KREM (channel 2) is a television station in Spokane, Washington, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside CW affiliate KSKN (channel 22). The two stations share studios on South Regal Street in the Southgate neighborhood of Spokane; KREM's transmitter is on Krell Hill to the southeast, covering eastern Washington state and northern Idaho. KREM-TV began broadcasting on October 31, 1954, as Spokane's third station. It was owned with KREM (970 AM) by Louis Wasmer, who had identified KREM's facilities as ideal for television expansion and bought the radio station at the same time he applied for the permit. Medford is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Oregon, in the United States. It is owned by Marquee Broadcasting alongside low-power dual MyNetworkTV/Telemundo affiliate KFBI-LD (channel 48).
