KARA (band)
Kara (; ; often stylized in all caps) is a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's current lineup is Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji. Kara made their debut in March 2007 with their first studio album, '' The First Bloooooming''. Originally a quartet composed of Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, and Kim Sunghee, Kara showcased a strong female image and a mature R&B sound. However, their debut was a commercial failure. The following year, Sunghee left the group due to educational issues, and members Goo Hara and Kang Ji-young were added. Kara's image changed to a "pretty but natural" concept with the release of their first mini-album, ''Rock U,'' in July 2008. They saw an increase in recognition in 2009, where they received significant attention for the "butt dance" choreography in "Mister". The First Bloooooming
''The First Bloooooming'' (also titled "The First Blooming", later retitled as "Blooming") is the debut studio album by South Korean girl group Kara, released on March 29, 2007, alongside the lead single "Break It". It is the only album which features original member Kim Sunghee who left in 2008 due to educational purposes. The album was not a commercial success and went unrecognized by the public. Music Network (acronym of the Mnet) is a South Korean pay television music channel owned by CJ ENM Entertainment Division. The CJ E&M Center Studio located in Sangam-dong, Mapo District, Seoul is the headquarters, broadcast and recording centre of many Mnet programs with a studio audience, namely the live weekly music show '' M Countdown''. Nicole Yongju Jung (; born October 7, 1991), referred to as Nicole, is a South Korean-American singer. She is a member of South Korean girl group Kara. Her solo debut mini album, ''First Romance'', was released on November 19, 2014. Early life Jung was born on October 7, 1991 in Glendale, California to Korean parents. She attended Mark Keppel Elementary School and Toll Middle School in Glendale, California. She participated in choir, drill team, played the violin for 4 years and took dance classes. She auditioned for DSP Media by sending a video of her singing an Ivy and Black Eyed Peas song. Jung made the decision to go to South Korea and experienced hardships such as adjusting to the culture and missing her friends. Park Gyu-ri (; born May 21, 1988), better known by the mononym Gyuri, is a South Korean singer, actress, and radio personality. She is a member of South Korean girl group Kara. Karasia
Karasia are a series of concert tours by South Korean girl group Kara. The Karasia 1st Tour began in Seoul at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in February 2012 and concluded at the Tokyo Dome in January 2013, marking the first time a female South Korean artist held a concert at the venue. The Karasia 2nd Japan Tour commenced in October 2013, which drew 120,000 people across 14 shows. The third and fourth legs of Karasia took place in 2014 and 2015, and the group reunited for the Karasia 5th Japan Tour in August 2024. The sixth leg, titled Magical World, will take place in 2025. ''Move Again'' is the eighth extended play released by the South Korean girl group Kara, released on November 29, 2022 through RBW, marketed as their "''15th Anniversary Special Album''". The EP marks their first release since their disbandment in 2016, their first to feature Nicole and Jiyoung since their departure in 2014, and their first to be released following the death of member Hara in November 2019. A Japanese version of the album released on December 21. ''Kara Project'' is a 2014 South Korean reality television program starring the girl group Kara. It aired on MBC M from May 27 – 1 July 2014. The program centred around the search to find a new member of Kara, following the departure of its members Nicole and Jiyoung. Seven trainees from DSP Media participated in the show, competing to become part of the group. The winner of the competition was Heo Young-ji Heo Young-ji (; born August 30, 1994), better known mononymously as Youngji, is a South Korean singer, dancer, entertainer and television personality. Super Girl (album)
is the second Japanese studio album and fifth overall studio album by South Korean girl group Kara. It was released digitally on November 16, 2011 and physically on November 23, 2011. A special Tour Edition of the album was released on April 11, 2012. Background and recording On October 24, DSP Media announced on the group's official website that their second Japanese full-length album is slated for release on November 23. In addition, the album will include all of the group's past three singles that were released on the same year along with their B-sides.
