Kolkebail Prathapachandra Hiriyanna Shetty (born 4 September 1950) is an Indian politician who was the chairman of Karnataka Legislative Council from 12 December 2018 to 4 February 2021. He was a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kundapura Assembly Constituency representing Indian National Congress for 4 consecutive terms starting from 1983 To 1994 Later He represented Local bodies in the Karnataka Legislative Council from 2004 To 2021. The Karnataka Legislative Council (formerly the Mysore Legislative Council) is the upper house of the state legislature of Karnataka. The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore, Karnataka, India. The university was founded during the reign of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and the premiership of Sir M. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), is a division of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) which is under the ownership of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Government of India. Established in 1988, the refinery is located at Katipalla, north from the centre of Mangalore. The refinery was established after displacing five villages, namely, Bala, Kalavar, Kuthetoor, Katipalla, and Adyapadi.
