K. P. A. Majeed (born 15 July 1950) is an Indian politician and social worker who currently serves as the Member of the Legislative Assembly from Tirurangadi Constituency in Kerala. He formerly functioned as the General Secretary, Kerala State Committee, Indian Union Muslim League. Majeed served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly from Mankada Constituency between 1980 and 2021. He also served as Kerala Government Chief Whip between 1992 and 1996. Pinarayi Vijayan
Pinarayi Vijayan (; born 24 May 1945) is an Indian politician who has served as the List of chief ministers of Kerala, Chief Minister of Kerala since 25 May 2016. A member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), he is the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) (1998–2015). 2004 Indian General Election In Kerala
The 2004 Indian general election in Kerala were held for 20 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) led Left Democratic Front (LDF) won 18 seats out of 20 seats in the state. Indian National Congress, who had won 8 seats in the 1999 elections, won one in this election. The other seats were won by Kerala Congress (1), P.C. Thomas's Indian Federal Democratic Party (1), Indian Union Muslim League (1), Janata Dal (Secular) (1), and by an LDF supported Independent candidate (1). In the aftermath of this election, the then Chief Minister of the state A. K. Antony resigned taking sole responsibility for the INC's poor electoral performance.
