K-pop Star (season 1)
The first season of ''Survival Audition K-pop Star'' () premiered on December 4, 2011, airing every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm under the ''Good Sunday'' programming block on SBS, until April 29, 2012. The first winner was Park Ji-min, who chose to sign with JYP Entertainment. The three judges for this season were Yang Hyun-suk, founder of YG Entertainment and former member of the popular South Korean act Seo Taiji & Boys, Park Jin-young, singer/songwriter and founder of JYP Entertainment, and Korean pop icon BoA, from SM Entertainment. Singer, Yoon Do-hyun, and entertainer, Boom, hosted the live competition from March 4, 2012 to April 29, 2012 when the winner is crowned. Yoon Do-hyun has also been narrating through the entire process. Park Jin-young (; born December 13, 1971), also known by his stage names J. Y. Park and The Asiansoul or the initials JYP, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer, record executive, and reality television show judge. Day6 (; stylized in all caps) is a South Korean pop rock band under the label JYP Entertainment. The group debuted on September 7, 2015, with the EP '' The Day,'' which peaked at No.2 on '' Billboard''s World Album Chart a week following its release. The band consists of four members: Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. Originally a six-member band, Junhyeok departed on February 27, 2016, and Jae departed on December 31, 2021. All of the Day6 members are heavily involved in writing, composing, and producing the band's music. In 2017, the band released two songs every month of the year for their ''Every Day6'' project. Park Jae-hyung (; born September 15, 1992), known professionally as eaJ (), is an Argentine-born South Korean singer, songwriter, and former member of the South Korean rock band Day6. He gained early recognition by competing in the first season of ''K-pop Star'' in 2012, where he finished in sixth place before signing with JYP Entertainment. Park debuted as the lead guitarist and vocalist of Day6 in September 2015 and was with the group until his departure in December 2021. Seongnam
