K-Swing
K-Swing, real name Kathryn "Katie" Kabel, is an American DJ/ Producer specializing in electronic dance music, specifically ''Rockbeat'' (coined for being a mixture of rock and roll and breakbeat) and electro house. She is from New Jersey, USA. In 2004 she was nominated for the ''Best Breakthrough DJ Award'' at the 2004 ''Dancestar USA: American Dance Music Award'' show. In 2006 she was signed to Adam Freeland's Marine Parade record label and was called the best "undiscovered" DJ. Her first single, ''This Is The Sound'' was co-produced with British producer Kevin Beber. Adam Freeland and Sebi Spanks did a remix of this single. Katie spent over 20 years of her life as a classically trained singer and dancer. Until 2004 – when her DJ career became too busy – she taught jazz, ballet, and modern dance. Adam Freeland
Adam Freeland (born 7 August 1973) is an English record producer and DJ. He is also the owner and creative director of the record label Marine Parade, which has released material by artists including Evil Nine, ILS, Alex Metric and Jape. Born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England, he first began DJing in 1991, originally mixing deep house and later drum and bass. After becoming an in-demand DJ around Britain, he released his first mix album ''Coastal Breaks'' (1996) and formed the electronic music duo Tsunami One with Kevin Beber. Breakbeat is a broad type of electronic music that tends to use drum breaks sampled from early recordings of funk, jazz, and R&B. Breakbeats have been used in styles such as hip hop, jungle, drum and bass, big beat, breakbeat hardcore, and UK garage styles (including 2-step, breakstep and dubstep).
