Jüri Ehlvest
Jüri Ehlvest (15 March 1967 Tallinn – 11 October 2006 New York City) was an Estonian writer. His brother is chess player Jaan Ehlvest Jaan Ehlvest (born 14 October 1962) is an Estonian-American chess player. He was awarded the title Grandmaster (chess), Grandmaster by FIDE in 1987. Ehlvest was Estonian champion in 1986. Since 2006, he has represented the United States. He was .... He studied in University of Tartu, taking courses in biology, theology and philosophy. When living in Tartu, he was a member of three literary groups: Abi-Piirissaare Dalinistlik Kõõl (with Sven Kivisildnik), Estonian Kostabi Society, and Hirohall. Jüri Ehlvest, Oli Eesti Kirjanik
Jüri is a small borough ( et, alevik) in Harju County, northern Estonia. It is located southeast of the capital Tallinn, by the Tallinn–Tartu road (E263), directly after the intersection with Tallinn Ring Road (nr. 11). Jüri is the administrative centre of Rae Parish. Jüri has a population of 3,426 as of 1 January 2012. In 2011, Jüri was the center of population of Estonia. Jüri has grown out of two parts: the centre of Sommerling kolkhoz (former Rosenhagen Manor) in the west and construction industry base with a residential area (former Jüri church and village) in the east. In the middle there is a protected Lehmja oak grove. In the 1630s the Rosenhagen Manor ( Lehmja since 1917) was established; nowadays the site is located in western Jüri. Jaan Ehlvest
Jaan Ehlvest (born 14 October 1962) is an Estonian-American chess player. He was awarded the title Grandmaster by FIDE in 1987. Ehlvest was Estonian champion in 1986. Since 2006, he has represented the United States. He was named Estonian Athlete of the Year in 1987 and 1989. From July 1990 to July 1991, he was among the top 10 on the FIDE world rankings, peaking at number 5 in the list of January 1991. Career Ehlvest's tournament victories include the 1980 USSR Junior Chess Championship, the 1983 European Junior Championship, the 1986 Estonian Championship, the 1994 New York Open, and the 2003 World Open in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When SK Rockaden won the 2001 Swedish championship they fielded Ehlvest. Sven Kivisildnik (citizen name Sven Sildnik; born in 1964 in Rakvere) is an Estonian writer, journalist and politician. He has studied journalism at University of Tartu. He is a member of two literary groups: Hirohall and Estonian Kostabi-$ociety. He is managing the publishing house Jumalikud Ilmutused. At the general meeting of the Estonian Independence Party (EIB) held on 18 April 2015, he was elected chairman of the party. From 2009 until 2015, he was the Estonian Independence Party Vice Chairman, and from 2006 until 2009, the Estonian Independence Party Secretary General. He ran for the Estonian Conservative People's Party for the Pärnu City Council and was elected.
