Júlio Regufe Alves (born 29 June 1991) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Póvoa de Varzim, Alves played youth football with three clubs, finishing his development with Rio Ave FC. In the 2010–11 season, he made his senior debut with farm team G.D. Ribeirão in the third division. In late January 2011, Alves was recalled by his parent club, making his Primeira Liga debut on 6 February by playing the last five minutes – and nearly scoring from a free kick – of a 1–0 away loss against FC Porto, which he had previously represented as a youth. Póvoa De Varzim
Póvoa de Varzim () is a Portugal, Portuguese city in Norte Region, Portugal, Northern Portugal and sub-region of Greater Porto, from its city centre. It sits in a sandy coastal plain, a cuspate foreland, halfway between the Minho River, Minho and Douro rivers. In 2001, there were 63,470 inhabitants, with 42,396 living in the city proper. The Liga Portugal 2 (), also known as Liga Portugal Meu Super for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division of the Portuguese football league system. At the end of each season, the two top-finishing teams are promoted to the top-tier Primeira Liga, Liga Portugal and the two lowest-ranked teams are relegated to the third-tier league. The 2012–13 Segunda Liga was the 23rd season of the second-tier of football in Portugal. This season marked a series of changes in the league overall. The league's name was changed back to Segunda Liga from the previous Liga de Honra. A total of 22 teams contested the league, up from 16 in the previous season; 14 of which contested the 2011–12 season, two of which were promoted from the Portuguese Second Division (including a reserve team), one of which was relegated from the 2011–12 Primeira Liga, and five of which were new reserve teams of Primeira Liga clubs. The 2010–11 Primeira Liga (also known as Liga ZON Sagres for sponsorship reasons) was the 77th season of the Primeira Liga, the top professional league for Portuguese association football clubs. It began on 15 August 2010 and ended on 14 May 2011. A total of 16 teams contested the league, 14 of which already took part in the previous season and two of which were promoted from the Liga de Honra. Vila do Conde (, ; "the Count's Town") is a municipality in the Norte Region, Portugal, Norte Region of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 79,533, in an area of 149.03 km2.
