Jørn Sigurd Maurud
Jørn Sigurd Maurud (born 8 April 1960) is a Norwegian jurist. He is Director of Public Prosecutions from 1 November 2019. Career Maurud graduated as cand.jur. from the University of Oslo in 1987. He has been assigned with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nord-Hedmark District Court, the law company Wikborg, Rein & Co., and the Supreme Court. From 1995 to 2010 he was a public prosecutor in Eidsivating. He was prosecutor in the widely media-covered Orderud case. From 2010 he was State's attorney in Oslo. In 2019 he was appointed as Norwegian Director of Public Prosecutions, effective from 1 November, succeeding Tor-Aksel Busch. Hanne Bjurstrøm (born 20 September 1960) is a Norwegian lawyer and politician representing the Labour Party, who served as Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud from 2016 to 2022. She previously served as Minister of Labour and Social Inclusion in Stoltenberg's Second Cabinet from 2009 to 2012. In 2021 she became vice president of the Labour Court of Norway. Norwegian Prosecuting Authority ( no, Påtalemyndigheten) is a body subordinate to the Norwegian Council of State. This body is responsible for legal prosecutions in Norway. It is divided into three levels. The third level of the Prosecuting Authority is the Police. The first two, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Public Prosecutors, are called "the Higher Prosecuting Authority" ( no, Den høyere påtalemyndighet). Hedmarken District Court
Hedmarken District Court ( no, Hedmarken tingrett) was a district court in Innlandet county, Norway. The court existed from 1588 to 1777 and again from 1992 until 2021. It served the Hedmarken area which included the municipalities of Hamar, Løten, Ringsaker, and Stange. The court was based in Hamar. The court had one chief judge, four other judges and two deputy judges, as well as an administrative staff of 12. Cases from this court could be appealed to the Eidsivating Court of Appeal in Hamar. Eidsivating Court Of Appeal
The Eidsivating Court of Appeal ( no, Eidsivating lagmannsrett) is one of six courts of appeal in the Kingdom of Norway. The Court is located in the city of Hamar. The court has jurisdiction over the counties of Innlandet and eastern Viken. These areas constitute the Eidsivating judicial district ( no, Eidsivating lagdømme). Orderud Case
The Orderud case ( no, Orderud-saken) was a triple murder that occurred in Søren, Akershus, Norway, on 22 May 1999. The victims were 47-year-old Anne Orderud Paust; her mother, 84-year-old Marie Orderud; and her father, 81-year-old Kristian Orderud, who were found shot and killed at their country estate. Anne's brother Per Kristian Orderud, his wife Veronica, his sister-in-law Kristin Kirkemo and Kristin's ex-boyfriend Lars Grønnerød were arrested and convicted of complicity in premeditated murder in 2001. Tor-Aksel Busch
Tor-Aksel Busch (born 17 March 1950) is a Norwegian jurist. He served as Director of Public Prosecutions from 1997 to 2019. Career Busch was born in Oslo, and graduated as cand.jur. from the University of Oslo in 1974. From 1981 to 1987 he was a public prosecutor in Eidsivating, and from 1981 to 1987 assisting Director of Public Prosecutions. In 1997 he was appointed as Norwegian Director of Public Prosecutions, succeeding Georg Fredrik Rieber-Mohn. Busch retired on 31 October 2019. During his career he prosecuted 138 cases for the Supreme Court.
