Villingen-Schwenningen
Villingen-Schwenningen (; Low Alemannic: ''Villinge-Schwenninge'') is a city in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in southern Baden-Württemberg, in south-western Germany. It had 89,743 inhabitants as of September 2024. History In the Middle Ages, Villingen was a town under Austrian lordship. During the Protestant Reformation it remained Catholic. Villingen came to international attention when it was besieged by Marshal of France Camille d'Hostun, duc de Tallard on 17 July 1704. Colonel Von Wilstorff put up a stout defence of the outdated fortifications, and after six days the siege failed. Schwenningen remained a village until the 19th century. In 1858, the first watch factory was established, and watchmaking and precision mechanics have been important industries ever since. Marc Muskatewitz (born 28 January 1996) is a German curler from Kempten. Career Juniors Muskatewitz started playing curling in 2003, where he had a successful junior career, where he skipped the German junior men's curling team at two European Junior Curling Challenge events, and later at two World Junior B Curling Championships. While he was still junior age, he won the German Men's Championship as a second on the Alexander Baumann team, and represented Germany on the national men's team at multiple European and World Championships. Mens Muskatewitz started skipping the national men's curling team at the 2018–19 curling season, with teammates Sixten Totzek, Daniel Neuner, and Ryan Sherrard. Curling is a sport in which players slide #Curling stone, stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area that is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Richard Henderson (20 March 1891 – 15 October 1958) was an English music hall comedian, singer and character actor. Life and career Dick Henderson was born in Sculcoates, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, the son of a machinist. He was an apprentice fitter at a shipyard, before leaving to join a pierrot troupe at Withernsea. He made his first London appearance in 1914. He was heavily built, smoked a cigar on stage, and wore tight suits to emphasise his girth, together with ill-matched shoes and a bowler hat several sizes too small. He found success with his quick-fire patter, often joking in a marked Yorkshire accent about his fictional wife or mother-in-law.
