Jäñgir-Kerei Khan
Jäñgır-Kerei Han (, ; 1801 – ) was the penultimate List of Kazakh khans, Khan of the Bukey Horde, ruling from 1823 to 1845, and the final khan to be formally appointed. During his rule, he sought to establish the Horde as a modern state based on the model of the Russian Empire, and enacted a number of reforms. He remains popularly known for his efforts to bring formal education to the Horde, but is controversial for his promotion of feudalism over nomadism, leading to in 1836. In addition to his reign, he also worked as a pathologist, studying anthrax extensively, and an anthropologist, recording Kazakh national epics and weaponry. Ğūbaidūllah Jäñgırūly Şyñğyshan (, Cyrillic: Ғұбайдұллаh Жәңгірұлы Шыңғысхан; 19 May 1840 – 28 February 1909), also transcribed from Russian as Gubaydullah Dzhangerovich Chingiskhan () was a Kazakh prince and General of the Cavalry of the Russian Empire. Biography Gubaydullah Chingiskhan was born into a Kazakh Muslim noble family on 18 May 1840 in Khan Ordasy, Kazakhstan (then ruled by the Kazakh Khanate). He was the son of former Kazakh ruler Jäñgir-Kerei Khan (List of Kazakh khans, Khan of the Bukey Horde) and his Kazakh wife Fatima. Through his father, Gubdaydullah was a direct descendant of Genghis Khan through the line of Jochi (Töre (dynasty), Töre).
