Järvsöfaks
Järvsöfaks (23 June 1994 – 19 October 2020) was a Sweden, Swedish harness racing, trotter. He held the current coldblood trotter's world record in wins, consecutive wins (42), and the coldblood trotter world record time, 1:17.9 per kilometre. His bloodlines included both Swedish and Norwegian coldblood trotters. Järvsöfaks was driven and trained by Jan-Olov Persson. He was an award-winning sire in Sweden, and some of his offspring have winnings of millions of Swedish krona, Swedish kronor. Biography Järvsöfaks was foaled on 23 June 1994, out of Järvsö Anna and by Trollfaks. He has been bred, owned, trained and driven, almost exclusively, by Persson. His trotting career started at age 3 in 1997, and ended at age 15 in 2009. With the win in his last race on 28 December 2009, he totally won 201 out of 234 races. Finnhorse
The Finnhorse or Finnish Horse ( , literally "horse of Finland"; , literally "finnish cold-blood") is a horse breed with both riding horse and draught horse influences and characteristics, and is the only breed developed fully in Finland. In English it is sometimes called the Finnish Universal, as the Finns consider the breed capable of fulfilling all of Finland's horse needs, including agricultural and forestry work, harness racing, and riding. In 2007, the breed was declared the official national horse breed of Finland. The Finnhorse is claimed to be among the fastest and most versatile "coldblood" breeds in the world. Coldblood Trotter
The Scandinavian Coldblood Trotter consists of two closely related and interconnected breeds of trotting horse: the Norsk Kaldblodstraver or Norwegian Coldblood Trotter and the Svensk Kallblodstravare, the Swedish Coldblood Trotter or North Swedish Trotter. Coldblood trotters are the result of cross-breeding native coldblooded farm horses – in Norway the Dølehest, in Sweden the North Swedish Horse – with lighter and faster horses. Although the Norwegian and Swedish coldblood trotters are substantially considered a single breed, two national stud-books are maintained, and registration requirements differ in some respects between the two countries. Spikeld
Spikeld (1993-2017) was a Norwegian trotting horse, from Elding and Spikdona. He was trained by Kjell Håkonsen. The horse's height was 158 cm. It set a best time for a 7-year old horse with a kilometre time of 1:18.6. Spikeld retired in 2006. After his racing career he was active as a breeding stallion. Life Guards (Sweden)
The Life Guards (, designation LG) is a combined Swedish Army cavalry/infantry regiment. Its responsibilities include the defence of Stockholm as well as provision of the royal guard of honour for the King of Sweden and the Stockholm Palace. With traditions dating from 1521, the regiment is one of the List of oldest military units and formations in continuous operation, oldest military units in continuous operational existence in the world. Reipas
Reipas (July 14, 1948 – September 20, 1971) was a successful Finnish trotter. He was a Finnhorse gelding, and the first Finnish horse to earn over one million marks in one season. Reipas was the best earning trotter in Finland through 1958–1960, and his earnings each season exceeded one million Marks, corresponding roughly to EUR 20,000. He was owned and mostly driven by Aapeli Miettinen. Reipas competed in 1952–1965, winning 348 of his approximately 1300 heats. His greatest win count in one season was 62. Being a gelding, Reipas never had offspring. His statue has been erected in the town centre of his home, Varpaisjärvi. Royal Guards (Sweden)
The Royal Guards () is the King of Sweden's cavalry and infantry guards of honour of the Swedish Armed Forces, tasked with the protection of the Swedish royal family. History and ceremonies The Royal Guard is normally divided in two parts, the main guard stationed at the Stockholm Palace, and a smaller detachment at Drottningholm Palace. The Royal Guards units has continuously guarded the Swedish royal family in Stockholm since 1523. The duty of forming a "Royal Guard" is rotated by all serving regular and reserve armed forces, including the Home Guard.
