Jyväskylä Sub-region
Jyväskylä sub-region is a subdivision of Central Finland and one of the sub-regions of Finland since 2009. It covers the area around the city of Jyväskylä. The Jyväskylä region has a population of , making it the sixth largest region in Finland after Greater Helsinki, Helsinki, Tampere sub-region, Tampere, Turku sub-region, Turku, Oulu sub-region, Oulu and Lahti sub-region, Lahti. Sub-regions Of Finland
Sub-regions (, ) are divisions used for Statistics, statistical purposes in Finland. The country is divided into 69 sub-regions, which are formed by groups of Municipalities of Finland, municipalities within the 19 regions of Finland. These sub-regions represent a Local administrative unit, LAU 1 level of division used in conjunction with the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics. Each municipality is a member of a sub-region based on cooperation between municipalities and the Commuting, commuter area. The member municipalities must be from the same region. Sub-regions were introduced as administrative divisions in 1994. Sub-region are no longer an official regional administrative divisions since 2014, but it is still valid for statistical purposes. Toivakka
Toivakka is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the Central Finland region, near Jyväskylä. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The sower pictured in the coat of arms of Toivakka refers to agriculture but also to hope for the future. The coat of arms was designed by Gustaf von Numers and was confirmed for use on April 23, 1957. Petäjävesi Old Church
The Petäjävesi Old Church () is a wooden church located in Petäjävesi, Finland. It was built between 1763 and 1765, when Tavastia was still a part of Sweden. The bell tower was built in 1821. It was inscribed in 1994 on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its testimony to the wooden church architecture of the Nordic countries. The church is located about to the west of the centre of Petäjävesi. It is a popular church for weddings in the summer, and there is a church service on most Sundays. History and Construction The church was built as the chapel for the area of Petäjävesi, which has belonged to the congregation of Jämsä. The local people had been given the permission to build a graveyard and a small village church at their own expense by the crown as early as in 1728 because the trip to the nearest church in Jämsä was long, however it took about 35 years until the construction began. Kuokkala Bridge
Kuokkala Bridge () is a bridge in Jyväskylä, Finland Finland, officially the Republic of Finland, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. Nils Ole Hilmer Torvalds (born 7 August 1945) is a Finnish politician who had been a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2012 to 2024. Merja Kyllönen (born 25 January 1977) is a Finnish politician and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Finland. Tuula Haatainen
Tuula Irmeli Haatainen (born 11 February 1960) is a Finnish politician and a member of the Finnish Parliament, with the Social Democratic Party of Finland, Social Democratic Party. She was the Minister of Education 2003–2005 and the Minister of Social Affairs and Health 2005–2007. In 2007 Haatainen was chosen as the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki and she left the parliament. Matti Vanhanen
Matti Taneli Vanhanen (; born 4 November 1955) is a Finnish politician who served as Prime Minister of Finland from 2003 to 2010. He was also Chairman of the Centre Party (Finland), Centre Party in 2006. In his earlier career, he was a journalist. Vanhanen is the son of professor Tatu Vanhanen and Anni Tiihonen. Laura Huhtasaari (born 30 March 1979) is a Finland, Finnish politician and teacher. As a member of the Finns Party, she has represented Satakunta (electoral district), Satakunta in the Parliament of Finland from April 2015 to July 2019. Pekka Haavisto
Pekka Olavi Haavisto (; born 23 March 1958) is a Finnish politician of the Green League who served as the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2019 to 2023. Haavisto returned to the Finnish Parliament in the Finnish parliamentary election of March 2007 after an absence of 12 years and was re-elected in 2011, 2015, and 2019. Between April 1995 and April 1999 he was the Minister of Environment in the Lipponen I Cabinet.
