Jyrki Pekka Emil Linnankivi (born 15 October 1968), known professionally as Jyrki 69, is a Finnish singer who is the lead vocalist of the gothic Rock music, rock band The 69 Eyes. In their early years, the band's sound was closer to glam metal, but since the album ''Blessed Be'' they have shifted into gothic rock. The 69 Eyes prefer to label their sound as "goth'n'roll". Jyrki's low and operatic bass-baritone vocal tone is reminiscent of fellow musicians Peter Steele of the gothic metal band Type O Negative and Andrew Eldritch of the gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy (he covered their 1987 hit "This Corrosion" with Maryslim in 2007). His voice has been influenced by Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Glenn Danzig. He has written most of the lyrics of their songs. Jyrki Lumme
Jyrki Olavi Lumme (born July 16, 1966) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) and SM-liiga. After beginning his career in Finland, playing with Ilves Tampere for three seasons, he moved to North America to join the Montreal Canadiens in 1988. The Canadiens had selected Lumme two years prior in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft 57th overall. In his second NHL season, he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks, with whom he spent the majority of his career and enjoyed the most success. Over nine seasons with the Canucks, Lumme was named the club's annual top defenceman on four occasions, became the team's all-time top goal- and point-scoring defenceman, and was a part of the squad's run to the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals. ''Jyrki'' (sometimes stylised as ''JYRK:.'') is a Finnish music television program that aired on the MTV3 channel from 1995 to 2001. It was an afternoon program about popular music for youths. The idea for the program came from the Canadian ''MuchMusic'' program by the CHUM network, whose material ''Jyrki'' borrowed and cooperated with to improve the concept. ''Jyrki'' was produced by Funny-Films Oy. Overview ''Jyrki'' began airing on 1 September 1995. It aired five days a week for one and a half hours and broadcast live from the Lasipalatsi in central Helsinki. When the Lasipalatsi was under renovation, the program was broadcast from . Jyrki Seppä (born 14 November 1961 in Tampere, Finland) is a retired professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League. Playing career Pre-NHL career Jyrki Seppä started his active career in 1979 when he played for Tampere Ilves in SM-liiga. Seppä played two seasons for Ilves before he moved to Jokerit of Helsinki. Seppä played the 1981–82 season for Jokerit before he was contracted by Winnipeg Jets NHL career Jyrki Seppä was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft in the third round, 43rd overall. Jyrki Niskanen (born 12 February 1956) is an operatic tenor from Finland. Niskanen was born in Helsinki and started his musical career as an entertainment musician, playing piano, keyboard and accordion, accompanying many of the well-known Finnish artists of the 1970s-1980s. Niskanen studied piano at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and obtained diploma in improvisation and free accompaniment.
