Juul Bjerke
Juul Bjerke (14 April 192828 February 2014) was a Norwegian economist. He was born in Hof, Vestfold. He took the cand.oecon degree and was hired in Statistics Norway in 1950. He served as State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance from 1971 to 1972, in Bratteli's First Cabinet. He was later a head of department in Statistics Norway from 1973 to 1983, then led the Economy Department at the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions from 1983 to 1993. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Bank of Norway from 1978 to 1993. He is the father of Siri and Rune Bjerke, and father-in-law of Libe Rieber-Mohn. He died in February 2014 in Motril Motril () is a town and municipality on the Mediterranean coast in the Granada, Spain. Hof, Vestfold
Hof is a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It merged into Holmestrand on Jan. 1, 2018. The administrative centre of the former municipality was the village of Hof. The municipality of Hof was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Hof had 3,031 inhabitants as of 1 January 2002. General information Name The municipality (originally the parish) was named after the old ''Hof'' farm (Old Norse: ''Hof''), since the first church was built here. The name is identical with the word '' hof'' which means " pagan temple (for the Norse Gods)". Coat-of-arms The coat-of-arms is from modern times. They were granted on 17 July 1992. The arms show three gold-colored water lily leaves on a red background. This was chosen to represent the many small lakes in the municipality. Motril
Motril () is a town and municipality on the Mediterranean coast in the Granada, Spain. It is the second largest town in the province, with a population of 60,368 as of 2016. The town is located near the Guadalfeo River and is from Granada. History Although its origin still remains unclear, it was a Phoenician enclave. It already existed in Roman times. When the Christians conquered Motril, there were 2,000 inhabitants whose main activities were agriculture, fishing and the production of silk and sugar. The city center size was around . Outside the city there are two suburbs: Al-Majon suburb and al-Couruch suburb and a neighborhood called Jandara. There was a Morisco uprising in 1569 that finished in 1570 with the Christians' victory. Rune Bjerke
Rune Bjerke (born 17 June 1960) is a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Labour Party. Rune is son of Juul Bjerke and brother of Siri Bjerke. Bjerke studied economics at the University of Oslo, and has a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University. From 1992 to 1995 he was city commissioner (''byråd'') of finance in the city cabinet of Oslo. He has previously been advisor in the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, director in Scancem International and chief executive officer in Hafslund. Siri Bjerke
Siri Bjerke (19 June 1958 – 11 February 2012) was a Norwegian politician ( Labour Party). She was substitute member of the Norwegian legislature between 1997 and 2005, state secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1993 and 1997 and Minister of the Environment between 2000 and 2001 during Stoltenberg's first cabinet. After leaving politics she worked as a director for the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (2002–2005) and for Innovation Norway (2005–). She studied psychology at the University of Oslo.
