Justin Spring (writer)
Justin Edward Spring (born March 11, 1984) is a retired Americans, American gymnast. He is a member of the bronze medal winning U.S. team at the Gymnastics at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He was also a top gymnast in NCAA Men's Gymnastics championship, NCAA competition, where he represented the Illinois Fighting Illini men's gymnastics, University of Illinois. Personal life Spring was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Burke, Virginia. He graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, VA in 2002. His father Sherwood Spring is a retired NASA astronaut. His sister, Sarah, was also a highly decorated collegiate gymnast at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH from 2000 to 2004. Robert Luke Stannard is an American gymnast. He competed for Illinois from 2007 to 2010. In 2009, he won the gold medal on pommel horse at the National championships. In 2010, he placed fourth at NCAA championships on pommel horse and thus earned all-American honors. That year, he was awarded the Nissen-Emery, the gymnastics version of the Heisman. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of a pair of cruciate ligaments (the other being the posterior cruciate ligament) in the human knee. The two ligaments are also called "cruciform" ligaments, as they are arranged in a crossed formation. In the quadruped stifle joint (analogous to the knee), based on its anatomical position, it is also referred to as the cranial cruciate ligament. The term cruciate translates to cross. This name is fitting because the ACL crosses the posterior cruciate ligament to form an “X”. It is composed of strong, fibrous material and assists in controlling excessive motion. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Dike Eddleman
Thomas Dwight "Dike" Eddleman (December 27, 1922 – August 1, 2001) was an American athlete who was generally considered the greatest athlete in the history of athletics at the University of Illinois. Eddleman participated on the university's basketball, track and field, and football teams between the years of 1942 and 1949. Eddleman earned a combined 11 varsity letters in his career at the university, during which he also became a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Eddleman was born in Centralia, Illinois, and attended Centralia High School. On October 24, 2008, Eddleman was named a Distinguished Alumni of Centralia High school.
