Justin Maxwell Sedgmen (born 17 February 1992) is an Australian motorcycle speedway rider. Career Junior career Born in Mildura, Victoria, Justin Sedgmen and his older brother Ryan Sedgmen (born December 1990) began their speedway careers at Mildura's Olympic Park Speedway on the infield junior track. Falubaz Zielona Góra is a Polish motorcycle speedway team based in Zielona Góra who currently races in Ekstraliga (speedway), PGE Ekstraliga. Darcy Stephen Ward (born 4 May 1992 in Nanango, Queensland) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Australia. He won the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Australian Under-21 Championships as well as the 2009 and 2010 World Under-21 Championships. Career history Junior career Darcy Ward started his speedway career as a junior in his native Queensland. He qualified for five Australian Under-16 Championships from 2003–2007, with a best finish of second in 2005 and again in 2007. 2009 In 2009, he rode for Unibax Toruń during the 2009 Polish speedway season and King's Lynn Stars in the 2009 Speedway Premier League. The Olympic Park Speedway is a motorcycle speedway located alongside the Murray River, at Olympic Park, Mildura, Victoria, Australia. The track is operated by the Mildura Motorcycle Club and hosts rounds of the Australian Solo Championship, the Victorian Solo Championship, the Australian Sidecar Championship and the Victorian Sidecar Championship. The speedway track has a circumference of 302 metres and a junior track with a circumference of 112 metres. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of soil, dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to . Knockout Cup (sometimes referred to as the KO Cup) is a type of British motorcycle speedway competition, examples of which have run annually since 1929. Each tier of British Speedway has its own respective Knockout Cup. The current Knockout Cup competitions are the SGB Premiership Knockout Cup (tier one), the SGB Championship Knockout Cup (tier two) and the National League Knockout Cup (tier three). The cups were run in the past under the associated name of the League at the time. The Premier League was the second tier of Motorcycle speedway, speedway in the United Kingdom (with the exception of the 1995 and 1996 seasons) and governed by The Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). The Premier League was founded in 1995 when the two divisions of the British League were amalgamated. In 1997, the Elite League (speedway), Elite League was created as a new top tier with the Premier League becoming the second tier. The league operated until 2016 when British speedway was restructured with the formation of the SGB Premiership and SGB Championship. As of 2016, there were 13 teams competing in this tier of British Speedway, contesting 6 competitions for silverware. South Australian Individual Speedway Championship
The South Australian Individual Speedway Championship (also known as the ''South Australian Solo Championship'') is a Motorcycle speedway championship held annually to determine the South Australian Champion. The event is organised by the Speedway Riders' Association of South Australia Inc (SRA). and is sanctioned by Motorcycling Australia (MA). History Jack Young and John Boulger, hold the record with nine championship wins each. Boulger holds the record of wins in a row with seven between 1971/72 and 1977/78, all at the Rowley Park Speedway in Adelaide. Since 1999/2000 all SA Solo titles have been held at the Gillman Speedway in Adelaide, mostly due to the Riverview Speedway in Murray Bridge no longer seeing regular solo racing due to the track renovations in 1999 which included lengthening the track and putting clay in the surface in order to attract Sprintcars and Speedcars.
