Justin Jirschele
Justin Douglas Jirschele (born April 15, 1990) is an American professional baseball coach for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Jirschele is the son of Mike Jirschele. He attended Clintonville High School in Clintonville, Wisconsin. He also played American Legion Baseball for Clintonville, winning the state championship in 2007 and 2008. Jirschele attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Jirschele played in Minor League Baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization for four seasons before retiring in 2015. That year, he became a coach for the Rookie-level Great Falls Voyagers. In 2017, he became manager of the Single-A Kannapolis Intimidators. In 2021, he became the manager of the Double-A Birmingham Barons. In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, who determines the starting lineup and batting order, decides how to substitute players during the game, and makes strategy decisions. Beyond the manager, more than a half dozen coaches may assist the manager in running the team. Essentially, baseball coaches are analogous to assistant coaches in other sports, as the baseball manager is to the head coach. The Charlotte Knights are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Great Falls Voyagers are an independent baseball team of the Pioneer League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB) but is an MLB Partner League. They are located in Great Falls, Montana, and play their home games at Centene Stadium. The team has played continuously in the Pioneer League since 1969, and previously played in the league from 1948 to 1963. In conjunction with a contraction of Minor League Baseball in 2021, the Pioneer League was converted from an MLB-affiliated Rookie Advanced league to an independent baseball league and granted status as an MLB Partner League, with Great Falls continuing as members. Mike Jirschele
Michael John Jirschele (; born March 3, 1959) is an American professional baseball coach who is the current manager of the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Triple-A minor league affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Kansas City Royals. He previously served as manager of the Storm Chasers from 1995 to 1997 and from 2003 to 2013. He also played minor league baseball for 13 seasons, and is also a former third base coach for the Royals. Playing career Jirschele went to high school in Clintonville, Wisconsin. He was named as an all-state quarterback on the football team.
