Justin Matthew Bonitz (born 1990) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, vocal coach, and social media personality. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the band Tallah, the bassist and vocalist of the band Graystone, the sole member of the project Hungry Lights and a contestant on Seasons 1 and 2 of the reality gameshow Musician Mansion. Career Early projects (2007–2015) Bonitz's musical career began at the age of 10 due to playing the guitar against his will, causing an initial dislike of it, although this view had changed by the following year after writing original material. Bonitz's career as a vocalist began at age 17 after forming a band named "6 Minutes to a Wheelchair", which was later renamed to "Blind Can't Follow" and then "amnaeon". Michael Stephen Portnoy (born April 20, 1967) is an American musician who is primarily known as the drummer, backing vocalist, and co-founder of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. In September 2010, Portnoy announced his departure from Dream Theater after 25 years, with Mike Mangini taking his place as drummer of the band. In October 2023, 13 years after his departure, the band announced his return. ''No One Should Read This'' is the debut EP by American heavy metal band Tallah. Released in August 2018, it explores the same concept as on their debut studio album ''Matriphagy'', released two years later, on which all five songs make an appearance. History "Placenta", the first single from the EP, was released on 15 May 2018. The song draws influences from both nu metal and thrash metal, containing a guitar solo at the end which is notably atypical for the former genre. ''Matriphagy'' is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Tallah. The album is considered to be an important step in the then-emerging fusion subgenre of nu metalcore. Concept ''Matriphagy'' is a concept album which expands upon the storyline of the band's debut EP, ''No One Should Read This'', which was released two years prior. Named after a behaviour practiced by arthropods, focuses on a young man, Kungan, who lives alone with his elderly disabled mother, Tallah, in an underground bunker which is decorated as to resemble a normal home. Kungan has never seen the outside world due to the nature of his domicile, and Tallah is an overprotective and abusive maternal figure; these factors eventually drive Kungan insane, causing him to murder, dismember and eat his own mother.
