	Florent Edouard Simon Florent Edouard Simon (or Edward Simon; May 26, 1799 – 1866) was a justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court from January 1, 1840, to March 19, 1846. Born in Tournai, in the province of Hainaut, Belgium, he studied at the University of Louvain, and studied civil law at Brussels.''Celebration of the Centenary of the Supreme Court of Louisiana'' (March 1, 1913), in John Wymond, Henry Plauché Dart, eds., ''The Louisiana Historical Quarterly'' (1922), p. 117. Following the annexation of Belgium to Holland, Simon emigrated to London in 1817, and from there to Baltimore, where he went into the cotton business. He moved to Louisiana, settling at St. Martinville. There, he was encouraged to finish his legal studies by his friend Felix Grima, a judge of the state. After retirement from bench, became a sugar planter. 	Seymour Simon Seymour Simon (August 10, 1915 – September 26, 2006) was an American lawyer, Appellate Court and Supreme Court Justice in Illinois, and City Council member ( alderman) in Chicago, Illinois. Life Simon was born in Chicago, and grew up in the Albany Park neighborhood. In 1931 he graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School, and in 1935 from Northwestern University, having earned a bachelor of science degree. Simon also attended law school at Northwestern and graduated first in his class in 1938. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. In 1954, he married Roslyn Biel, a widow with three children.
