"Just Play Music!" is a song by the English band Big Audio Dynamite, released in May 1988 as the first single from their third studio album, ''Tighten Up, Vol. 88'' (1988). The edit of "Just Play Music!" omits Don Letts' rapping from the outro and some of the Sampling (music), samples. In the US, it was the second song to top ''Billboard (magazine), Billboards then-new Alternative Airplay, Modern Rock Tracks chart. A heavily edited version of the single's A-side and B-side, B-side, "Much Worse", is used as the introduction of WBAI's talk radio programme "Off the Hook (radio program), Off the Hook". Big Audio Dynamite
Big Audio Dynamite (later known as Big Audio Dynamite II and Big Audio, and often abbreviated BAD) were an English band, formed in London in 1984 by Mick Jones (The Clash guitarist), Mick Jones, former lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the Clash. The band mixed various musical styles, incorporating elements of punk rock, dance music, hip hop, reggae, and funk. After releasing a number of well-received studio albums and touring extensively throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Big Audio Dynamite broke up in 1997. In 2011, the band embarked on a reunion tour.
