Just Like That (Gemini Song)
"Just Like That" is originally an unreleased song by ABBA from 1982, and written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The first official release of the song (in any form) is by Swedish brother and sister duo Gemini (Karin and Anders Glenmark), on their self-titled album (1985), produced by Benny and Björn with Anders Glenmark, and released as a 1986 single. Gemini's version is heavily rewritten compared to the ABBA original, with a slower arrangement and completely different verses. ABBA version The ABBA version has never been released officially. Recorded in 1982, as a track for a forthcoming ABBA album, Benny and Björn decided something was inherently 'wrong' with the track (verse and melody didn't match), and the track was discarded. When the album plans were cancelled in 1982, it was decided instead to release a compilation with two new singles. Gemini (Swedish Band)
Gemini are a Swedish brother and sister duo, consisting of Karin Glenmark and Anders Glenmark. The duo released two original albums: ''Gemini'' (1985) and '' Geminism'' (1987). Both albums reached the Swedish Top 20, while their success was limited to Scandinavia. Their only truly international release was the single " Just Like That" (the chorus of which was recorded and is, as yet, officially unreleased by ABBA). Prior to their work as Gemini, Karin and Anders formed half of the group Glenmarks (with their uncle Bruno Glenmark and aunt Ann-Louise Hanson) and also released two singles together, with 1984's " Kall som is" ("Cold As Ice") being placed 4th at Melodifestivalen (the Swedish heats for the Eurovision Song Contest). The winner of Melodifestivalen, Herreys, went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest (with "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley") and recorded a version of "Kall som is" for their album. ''Thank You for the Music'' is a box set by the Swedish pop group ABBA, released on 31 October 1994. It consists of 66 tracks across four discs, with the first three discs including all of the band's singles from 1972–1982, many B-sides, and some album tracks in chronological order; while the fourth disc includes some rarities and some previously unreleased material, most notably the 23-and-a-half minute long medley "ABBA Undeleted", which includes the track " Just a Notion", later released as part of '' Voyage'' in 2021. This box set marks the appearance of several ABBA tracks on compact disc for the first time. Sir Michael Terence Wogan (; 3 August 1938 – 31 January 2016) was an Irish radio and television broadcaster who worked for the BBC in Britain for most of his career. Per Nils Myrberg (; 11 July 1933 – 28 December 2023) was a Swedish singer and actor. He appeared in many films since 1957 including ''The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo''. He also was a singer, having success at Svensktoppen. Early life Myrberg was born on 11 July 1933 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of city architect and singer . He originally wanted to be a jazz musician, but he applied and was accepted into the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in 1955, and he graduated in 1957. ''Chess'' is a musical with music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of the pop group ABBA, lyrics by Ulvaeus and Tim Rice, and book by Rice. The story involves a politically driven, Cold War-era chess tournament between two grandmasters, one American and the other Soviet, and their fight over a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. Although the protagonists were not intended to represent any real individuals, the character of the American grandmaster (named Freddie Trumper in the stage version) was loosely based on Bobby Fischer, while elements of the story may have been inspired by the chess careers of Russian grandmasters Viktor Korchnoi and Anatoly Karpov. Under Attack
"Under Attack" is a song by Swedish pop group ABBA, released in December 1982 as the second and final single from the compilation '' The Singles: The First Ten Years''. Background ABBA recorded "Under Attack" between 2 and 4 August 1982 at Polar Studios, Stockholm. The group had originally intended to release a new studio album, but instead decided to release a double-album compilation of their past singles while adding two new songs from the session. The two new tracks that made it onto ''The Singles: The First Ten Years'' were " The Day Before You Came" and "Under Attack". The latter would eventually be added to the expanded editions of '' The Visitors'' album. On 11 December 1982, ABBA performed "Under Attack" on the BBC's '' Late Late Breakfast Show'', in what was their last collective performance. ''Gemini'' is an album by Gemini released in 1985. Produced by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anders Glenmark, the album features songwriting contributions from Andersson, Ulvaeus, Glenmark and Ingela Forsman. The album peaked at No. 9 on Sverigetopplistan in November 1985. Two songs were of particular interest to ABBA fans: "Slowly", a song written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, was previously recorded by ABBA's Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad and the unreleased ABBA song " Just Like That" was re-written and included on this LP.
