Jurre Van Aken
Jurre van Aken (born 23 February 2003) is a Dutch footballer who plays for Jong AZ in the Eerste Divisie. Club career Van Aken joined the academy at AZ Alkmaar in 2014 from amateur side Victoria Obdam. By following the route from Victoria Ondam to AZ van Aken was hoping to follow in the footsteps of former Cameroon international Willie Overtoom who also took that pathway. He signed a pro contract with AZ in June 2021 up to the summer of 2023, with the option of an extra season. He made his debut in the Eerste Divisie on 15 April 2022 against ADO Den Haag appearing as a substitute in a 1-0 home defeat. The Eerste Divisie (; ) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship reasons, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason. History The Eerste Divisie consists of 20 clubs, who play each other in a double round-robin league, with each club playing the other club home and away. Each club plays every other club once in the first half of the season before the league takes a winter break around the Christmas and New Year's holiday season. Willie Overtoom (born 2 September 1986) is a Cameroonian former professional association football, footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Early life The son of a Dutch father and a Cameroonian mother, Overtoom lived the first three years of his life in Cameroon before moving to the Netherlands. Overtoom holds a Netherlands, Dutch passport. Club career Overtoom started playing football at amateur side Victoria Obdam and became an exponent of the AZ Alkmaar, AZ youth academy at the age of 13. Alles Door Oefening Den Haag (), commonly known by the abbreviated name ADO Den Haag (), is a Dutch association football club from the city of The Hague. NAC Breda (), often simply known as NAC, is a Dutch professional football club, based in Breda, Netherlands.
