Juris Umbraško
Juris Umbraško (born 29 July 1978 in Jekabpils, Latvia) is a Latvian professional basketball coach and player. He heads the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League team Rīgas Zeļļi. Club play Umbraško started his senior club career with Latvijas Basketbola līga team ASK Broceni LMT and later moved to European basketball powerhouse CSKA Moscow. In 2002 he returned to Latvia to represent BK Ventspils and won the Latvian Championship titles in 2002 and 2003. After years abroad and in Latvia, he struggled to play consistently. He played in Ukraine for almost 4 years, representing different teams, but achieving little success. In 2008 he returned to Latvia to play an episodic role in VEF Riga's Latvian League triumph. At the beginning of the 2011–2012 season, he joined Estonian team BC Rakvere Tarvas with fellow Latvians Kaspars Cipruss and Rinalds Sirsniņš. An athletic coach is a person coaching in sport, involved in the direction, instruction, and training of a sports team or athlete. Estonian Basketball Cup
The Estonian Cup (), also known as the Kaamos SuperCup for sponsorship reasons, is an annual cup competition for Estonian basketball teams. It is organized by the Estonian Basketball Association. Until the 2000–01 season, the cup tournament was held in the end of the season in spring. EuroCup Challenge
The FIBA EuroCup Challenge was the 4th-tier level transnational professional continental club basketball competition in Europe, organised by FIBA Europe. However, it was Europe's 3rd-tier level club basketball competition in its inaugural 2002–03 season. Kaspars Cipruss (born February 2, 1982) is a former Latvian basketball player. He is the current General Secretary of the Latvian Basketball Association. Club career Born in Rēzekne, Latvia, Cipruss started his basketball career in Latvian powerhouse ASK/Brocēni/LMT in 1998. After extinction of the team he had a brief spell in Latvian team BK Gulbenes Buki. In 2000, he drew interest from Rutgers, Wake Forest, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, UNLV and Boston College. Cipruss signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Rutgers, but he had letter-of-intent problem, so he decided instead to play professionally in Europe. ASK/Brocēni/LMT was a professional basketball team that was located in Riga, Latvia that existed from 1992 to 2001. For most of its duration it was named after its main sponsor, the Brocēni Cement and Roofing Slate Factory. The club played in the Latvian Basketball League, winning eight consecutive titles from 1992 till 1999. Brocēni also were regular participants in European club competitions.
