Jump On It (Montrose Album)
''Jump on It'' is the fourth studio album by American hard rock band Montrose. It is the second Montrose album to feature singer Bob James and keyboardist Jim Alcivar, and features bassist Randy Jo Hobbs on three songs. The remainder of the bass parts were supplied by Jim Alcivar via the keyboard and there was no bassist on the ''Jump on It'' tour. Jack Douglas produced the album. ''Jump on It'' was the band's third highest-charting release, reaching No. 118 on the ''Billboard'' 200 in October 1976. Montrose (band)
Montrose was an American hard rock band formed in 1973 and named after guitarist and founder Ronnie Montrose. The band's original lineup featured lead vocalist and frontman Sammy Hagar, who would later find great success as a solo artist and as singer of Van Halen. Completing the original line-up were bassist Bill Church and drummer Denny Carmassi. The band experienced moderate success before disbanding in early 1977. The 1973 debut album '' Montrose'' eventually proved to be an international sleeper hit, selling in excess of one million copies and attaining platinum status in 1986. He is most noted for his connection to guitarist Ronnie Montrose and appearing in his bands Montrose and Gamma and on his first solo album ''Open Fire''. Hipgnosis were an English art design group, based in London, that specialised in creating album cover artwork for rock musicians and bands. Their commissions included work for Pink Floyd, Def Leppard, T. Keyboard bass (shortened to keybass and sometimes referred as a synth bass) is the use of a smaller, low-pitched keyboard with fewer notes than a regular keyboard or pedal keyboard to substitute for the deep notes of a bass guitar or double bass in music. Lauren Wood (born Ilene Rappaport in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), also known as Chunky, is an American singer-songwriter, voice-over artist, and producer. Her 1981 single "Fallen" from the album ''Cat Trick'' was used in the 1990 movie '' Pretty Woman''. In 1979 she recorded "Please Don't Leave", a duet with singer Michael McDonald. Daniel Earl Hartman (December 8, 1950 – March 22, 1994) was an American pop rock musician, multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer, and songwriter and original frontman for several bands, including the Soploids, Mak and the Turnarounds, Our Wringer, Last Wing, and Orion. Among songs he wrote and recorded were " Free Ride" as a member of the Edgar Winter Group, and the solo hits " Relight My Fire", "Instant Replay", " I Can Dream About You", " We Are the Young" and " Second Nature". Dennis Joseph "Denny" Carmassi (born 1947) is an American drummer most notable for playing with many rock bands. Biography Carmassi was born into a family of drummers; his father, his uncle, and his brother each played the drums. Occasionally, they allowed young Denny to sit in with them. His father exposed him to great drummers, including Buddy Rich, Jimmy Vincent and Richard Goldberg. Denny listened to the radio and discovered such drummers as Earl Palmer, D.J. Fontana, Al Jackson Jr., Clyde Stubblefield, Jabo Starks, Dino Danelli, Ginger Baker, Mitch Mitchell, John Bonham, and Tony Williams. Out of high school, he started playing topless clubs in San Francisco.
