Julián Ganzábal
Julián Ganzábal (born 25 August 1946) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Biography Ganzábal first played Davis Cup tennis for Argentina Davis Cup team, Argentina in 1967. His career singles highlights include winning the River Plate Championships four times (1968–69, 1973, 1976). He defeated two-time Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam winner Fred Stolle at Swiss Open (tennis), Gstaad in 1969, but didn't go deep into a Grand Prix tennis circuit, Grand Prix tournament until 1972 when he reached the semifinals at home in ATP Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires. Further semifinals came at ATP Florence, Florence in 1974 and Berlin in 1976. As a doubles player he partnered with Davis Cup teammate Lito Álvarez to finish runner-up at Dutch Open (tennis), Hilversum in 1974. Alejandro Ganzábal
Alejandro Román Ganzábal (born 16 February 1960) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Career Ganzabal made his Grand Slam debut in the 1981 French Open and managed to reach the third round, beating former finalist Manuel Orantes and American Steve Krulevitz. In 1982 he was runner-up in the Buenos Aires Grand Prix tournament and made quarter-finals at Venice, Boston and Quito. He had an upset win over third seed Eliot Teltscher in Boston. At the French Open that year, Ganzabal defeated Júlio Góes in the opening round but was unable to overcome Mike Myburg in the second round, losing in five sets. His best result in 1983 was at Aix-En-Provence in France, where he was a quarter-finalist. He was defeated by Fernando Luna in the opening round of that year's French Open. Modesto "Tito" Vázquez (born 1 January 1949) is a tennis coach and former professional player from Argentina. Biography Vázquez, born in Galicia region of Spain, emigrated to Buenos Aires with his family at a young age. They were one of many Spanish families to move to Argentina after the Civil War. He had his third birthday while on the ship to South America. Playing career A successful junior in Argentina, he went to UCLA and played NCAA tennis from 1967 to 1971 on a team that featured Jimmy Connors. He played for Argentina during the 1968 Davis Cup for a tie against Venezuela in Caracas and in the 1970 Davis Cup when he played Chile in Buenos Aires. These were his only two appearances in the tournament. The Dutch Open is a professional tennis tournament currently part of the ATP Challenger Tour since 2019. It is played on outdoor clay courts in Bunschoten, Netherlands (since 2025). Originally known as the International Championships of the Netherlands and then known as the Dutch Open Tennis, it was a Grand Prix circuit and subsequently an ATP Tour event held in three different locations in The Netherlands between 1957 and 2008. Elio "Lito" Álvarez (born 5 December 1947) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Career Álvarez played collegiate tennis for the UCLA Bruins, on the same team as Jimmy Connors, in the early 1970s. He appeared in eight Davis Cup ties for Argentina from 1970 to 1978. He played mainly in doubles rubbers but had two wins in the singles, against Carlos Kirmayr and Luis Felipe Tavares, both of Brazil. His doubles record was 4/4 and his partners included Guillermo Vilas and José Luis Clerc.
