Julius Schmid (March 17, 1865 – June 6, 1939) was a pioneer of condom manufacturing. Ramses was one of his major condom brands. His enterprise was hampered because his contraceptive business was illegal in the early 20th-century United States (prior to Margaret Sanger's local legalization and nationwide ''Griswold v. Margaret Sanger ( Higgins; September 14, 1879September 6, 1966) was an American birth control activist, sex educator, writer, and nurse. She opened the first birth control clinic in the United States, founded Planned Parenthood, and was instrumental in the development of the first birth control pill.
