Julio Mañón
Julio Alberto Mañón '' ah'-nion' (born June 10, 1973) is a Dominican former professional baseball relief pitcher. Career Starting from the Dominican Mañón was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1993. He did not make his debut until 2003 with the Montreal Expos. He went 1–2 with a 4.13 ERA in 23 games. Asian baseball After the 2003 season, his contract was sold to the Kia Tigers of the Korean Baseball League. He spent the 2005 season in Taiwan, with the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. Back in MLB Mañón came back to baseball in the United States in 2006, when he signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles on March 6. He would later go on to go 0–1 with a 5.40 ERA in 22 games for the Orioles and played in the Triple A All-star game whilst playing for the Ottawa Lynx. In baseball and softball, a relief pitcher or reliever is a pitcher who pitches in the game after the starting pitcher or another relief pitcher has been removed from the game due to fatigue (medical), fatigue, injury, ineffectiveness, ejection (sports), ejection, high pitch count, or for other strategic reasons, such as inclement weather delays or pinch hitter substitutions. Kirk Craig Saarloos (born May 23, 1979) is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the TCU Horned Frogs. He played college baseball at Cal State Fullerton for coach George Horton from 1999 to 2001 and played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for seven seasons from 2002 to 2008. The Houston Astros selected Saarloos in the third round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft. He played 7 years a pitcher in MLB, with Houston from 2002 to 2003, the Oakland Athletics 2004 to 2006, Cincinnati Reds in 2007 before returning to Oakland in 2008.
