Julinho Sporting F.C. (also known as the Rundu Lions) is a Namibian football club competing in the Namibia Premier League. The team is based in Rundu in the Kavango East region. The team earned a promotion to the 2014–15 Namibia Premier League after winning the 2013–14 North East First Division title. In their first season in the Premier League, the team placed 13th. History Julinho Sporting F.C. was founded in 2002 by brothers Nelson and Norton Luis in Rundu. They named the team after their late father, Julio Luis. The three had previously been involved with a community football club called Cola-Cola Sporting. The club spent nine years in Namibia's Second Division and was originally composed of players from the Maria Mwengere Secondary School. Rundu Sports Stadium
The Rundu Sports Stadium is an association football stadium in Rundu, Namibia with seating for 500 spectators. The grass-surface stadium is also capable of hosting athletics, netball, and basketball matches and is the only stadium in the Kavango East and Kavango West regions. The stadium is the home venue of Julinho Sporting and Cuca Tops of the Namibia Premiership and Rundu Chiefs and United Stars of the Namibia First Division. History The stadium was constructed in 1992. In 2016 the stadium underwent a renovation, including the installation of its first-ever floodlighting, in preparation to host several high-profile football tournaments. Mamelodi, part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is a township set up by the then apartheid government northeast of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Etymology "Mamelodi" is the name derived from the Sepedi word with the prefix being "ma" meaning mother, and the suffix "melodi" meaning melodies. The ''New Era'' is a daily national newspaper owned by the government of Namibia. The newspaper is one of four daily national newspapers in the country, the others being '' The Namibian'' (English and Oshiwambo), '' Die Republikein'' (Afrikaans) and '' Allgemeine Zeitung'' ( German). Hage Gottfried Geingob (born 3 August 1941) is a Namibian politician, serving as the third president of Namibia since 21 March 2015. Geingob was the first Prime Minister of Namibia from 1990 to 2002, and served as prime minister again from 2012 to 2015. Between 2008 and 2012 Geingob served as Minister of Trade and Industry. He is also the current president of the ruling SWAPO Party since his election to the position in November 2017. In November 2014, Geingob was elected president of Namibia by an overwhelming margin. Rundu
Rundu is the capital and largest city of the Kavango-East Region in northern Namibia. It lies on the border with Angola on the banks of the Kavango River about above sea level. Rundu's population is growing rapidly. The 2001 census counted 36,964 inhabitants; and for the 2011 census it has climbed to 63,430. History In 1936, it became the seat of the local governor as it replaced Nkurenkuru as capital of the Kavango district.
