Juliette Ah-Wan
Juliette Chantal Ah-Wan (born 29 April 1981) is a badminton player from Seychelles. Born in Victoria, Seychelles, Ah-Wan debuted in 1995 at the age of 14. In 2007, she awarded as Sportslady of the Year. Ah-Wan has competed in some international tournament, including 2008 Summer Olympics, and Commonwealth Games from 2002–2018. Victoria, Seychelles
Victoria () is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Seychelles, situated on the north-eastern side of Mahé island, the archipelago's main island. The city was first established as the seat of the British colonial government. Kate Foo Kune
Kate Jessica Kim Lee Foo Kune (born 29 March 1993) is a badminton player from Mauritius. She began playing badminton in Mauritius at age six. Her first major tournament participation was 2013 BWF World Championships in China, where she lost in the first round of women's singles to Sarah Walker of England. Foo Kune represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was the flag bearer for Mauritius during the Parade of Nations. As a junior player, she won the Under-15 and Under-19 African tournaments. She was awarded the Sportswoman of the year in 2015 in Mauritius. In doubles, she partnered with Yeldy Marie Louison, while in mixed doubles, she partnered with Julien Paul. Her career-best ranking remains 63 as of 2016 and her best performance remains the gold at 2015 African games. Allisen Camille (born 26 June 1992) is a Seychellois badminton player. Camille competed at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Commonwealth Games. She won two silvers and a bronze at the 2011 All-Africa Games in the women's doubles, mixed doubles, and team event respectively. Abuja () is the capital and eighth most populous city of Nigeria. Badminton At The Commonwealth Games
Badminton had its debut at the 1966 Commonwealth Games and has been contested in 14 consecutive Commonwealth Games since. Editions History Badminton was added to the Commonwealth Games program in 1966, as an optional sport. The sport was chosen to replace lawn bowls, due the lack of facilities at Jamaica. Having this status until the 1994 edition, when it became a mandatory sport. In the first three editions, five events were played (men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles). Between 1978 to 1990 a sixth event was in the program (the mixed team competition). Also between 1966 and 1990, one bronze medal was at stake. Between 1994 to 2002, the losers of the two semifinals also won two bronze medals.
