Julie Wilson Nimmo
Julie Wilson Nimmo (born 26 May 1972) is a Scottish actress. She is known for portraying the roles of Miss Hoolie in the BBC Children's series ''Balamory'', Mrs Sawdust in CBeebies show ''Olga Da Polga'' and DC Megan Squire in the BBC Scottish comedy series ''Scot Squad''. Career Nimmo started her career along with a lot of other Scottish actors and comedians in the 1995 sketch show ''Pulp Video'' which was partly written by her husband Greg Hemphill and his co-writer Ford Kiernan. Between 1999 and 2002, Nimmo was a regular star in the sketch show ''Chewin' the Fat'' by the same writers. She starred in all four series and the New Year specials. After taking a break from acting, Nimmo returned to the stage in Glasgow as So-Shy in a production of Sandy Wilson's pantomime musical ''Aladdin''. The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (), formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama () is a conservatoire of dance, drama, music, production, and film in Glasgow, Scotland. ''Fags, Mags and Bags'' is a Scottish radio comedy broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Its first series was nominated for a Sony Radio Award. The writers, Sanjeev Kohli and Donald McLeary, received a Writers Guild Award in November 2008 for Radio Comedy of the Year. The theme music for the show is "Smiling" by the Beta Band. In September 2017 the producer Gus Beattie revealed the list of other tracks considered for the theme, which included songs by The Go! Team, The Fratellis and The Breeders, among many others. On 4 October 2013 it was announced on the Official Facebook page that the episode "Meter Reading Chic" would be the final episode of the show. Olga Da Polga
Olga da Polga is a fictional guinea pig, who is the heroine of a BBC television series for CBeebies and a series of books for children. The books were originally written by Michael Bond and published between 1971 and 2002. Unlike Bond's more famous character, Paddington Bear, Olga is a teller of tall tales in the style of Baron Munchausen. The typical plot of each story is that something fairly ordinary happens to Olga, and she gives her animal friends a wildly exaggerated version of events, subsequently revealed to be untrue by what the humans say. Bond's books were memorably illustrated by Danish artist Hans Helweg, who was also well known for his "pulp fiction" covers for Pan paperbacks. His illustrations are still strongly associated with Olga, although later editions have used different imagery including artwork by Catherine Rayner for Usborne. Lorraine McIntosh (born 13 May 1964) is a Scottish singer and actress. She is one of the vocalists of the pop/rock band Deacon Blue. Career McIntosh is a vocalist with Deacon Blue, whose second studio album, '' When the World Knows Your Name'' (1989), topped the UK Albums Chart for two weeks, and included " Real Gone Kid", which became their first UK top ten single. John Michie
John Michie (born 25 October 1956) is a Scottish television and film actor, known for his roles as DI Robbie Ross in the STV detective drama series ''Taggart'', as Karl Munro in ''Coronation Street'' from 2011 to 2013 and his role as CEO Guy Self in '' Casualty'' and ''Holby City''. Early life Michie was born in Burma and boarded at Windlesham House School while his family were based in Kenya. The family later settled in Edinburgh, where was sent to study at Glenalmond College from the age of twelve.
