Julian Solís
Julian Solís (born 7 January 1957) is a former Boxing, boxer from Puerto Rico. He was born in the San Juan, Puerto Rico, San Juan area of Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, but because of the closeness of his birthplace to Caguas, Puerto Rico, Caguas, he often trained at the Bairoa Gym in Caguas. His training base, however, was the Caimito Gym. A former Lineal championship, Lineal and World Boxing Association, WBA Bantamweight champion, Solis is the only world champion in a family that produced two other world-class boxers: brother Enrique Solis, Enrique was outpointed by WBA Featherweight champion Eusebio Pedroza in 1978, and brother Rafael Solis (boxer), Rafael was knockout, knocked out in five rounds by World Boxing Council, WBC Super featherweight champion Héctor Camacho in 1983. "Joltin'" Jeff Chandler (born September 3, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a former boxer. Chandler reigned as the Lineal and WBA world Bantamweight Champion from November 1980 to April 1984. Professional boxing career The 5'7" (67 inches - 1.70 metres) tall Philadelphian began his professional career with a four-round draw in 1976 after only two amateur bouts. Chandler then began a four-year string of victories culminating in a challenge for the world's lineal and WBA 118-pound championship held by Julian Solís. On November 14, 1980, Chandler won the title by a fourteenth-round knockout in Miami, becoming the first American fighter to hold the bantamweight crown in over 30 years. Jorge Luján (born March 18, 1955) is a Panamanian who was a professional boxer and fought many top-flight boxers and several champions during the 1970s and 1980s. Luján is the former Lineal and WBA Bantamweight world champion. He was managed by Aurelio Cortez. Professional boxing career Luján was born in Colon, and began his professional boxing career by knocking out one Baby San Blas III in one round on June 16, 1973, at Gimnasio Nuevo Panama (now Roberto Durán Arena). Luján proceeded with another first-round knockout, this one of a fighter named Tranquita Brown. He ran a record of 4-0 with 2 knockouts and then met future Guty Espadas world title challenger Alex Santana, 0-1 at the time.
