Julia Weagle
Julia Weagle (born February 10, 1988) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa. Career Youth Weagle began curling at the age of 7. When the 2001 Nokia Brier was hosted in Ottawa, Weagle beat future World Champion Rachel Homan in a special little rock bonspiel played on Brier ice. Homan's future longtime teammate Emma Miskew was a member of Weagle's team. In high school, Weagle skipped her Nepean High School team to a runner-up finish at the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association championships in 2004. She lost in the final to Sir Robert Borden High School, skipped by Karen Sagle. In 2005, she lost in the Ontario Bantam final to Rachel Homan. She skipped a team out of Peterborough at the 2009 Ontario Junior Curling Championships, finishing with a 1–6 record. ''North of North'' is a Canadian comedy television series that premiered on CBC, APTN, and Netflix in 2025. Nunavut At The Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The Canadian territory of Nunavut, which was created in 1999, was first given representation at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship in 2015, following a decision to allow each of Canada's three territories to have their own teams. The Nunavut Curling Association declined their spot, but began competing in 2016. 2016 The territory had a playdown in 2016 featuring two teams from the Iqaluit Curling Club, which was won by the Geneva Chislett rink. They were supposed to play a team from Rankin Inlet for the territorial championship, but that team pulled out at the last minute. Ontario Curling Tour
The Ontario Curling Tour is a group of curling bonspiels, which takes places in Ontario, Canada and surrounding jurisdictions. The events for the Ontario Curling Tour begin at the end of August and typically run until December, with occasional events taking place in January. Several of the events on the Ontario Curling Tour were also included in the World Curling Tour. All events on the Ontario Curling Tour contain a prize purse for the winning teams, and award CTRS ( Canadian Team Ranking System) points to the Canadian teams competing. The 2018 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 10 to 14 at the Whitby Curling Club in Whitby, Ontario. The winning team represented Ontario at the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Penticton, British Columbia. The defending champion Rachel Homan rink from Ottawa represented Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics, and thus will not have the opportunity to defend their provincial crown. Had they not qualified for the Olympics, they still would not have had a chance to defend their title, as they would have represented Team Canada at the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Chrissy Cadorin
Christina Cadorin (born October 19, 1980) is a Canadian curler from Thornhill, Ontario. She currently plays third on Team Breanna Rozon. Career Cadorin was born in North York, Ontario. As a junior curler, Cadorin won two Junior Mixed junior mixed titles, in 1999 playing lead on a team skipped by John Morris and in 2001 playing third on a team skipped by Sean St. Amand. In university, Cadorin was a member of the Laurier Golden Hawks curling team. In 2006, Cadorin joined Team Jenn Hanna, playing third on the team. The team played in one Grand Slam event that season, Cardorin's first, the 2006 Trail Appliances Autumn Gold Curling Classic. The team missed the playoffs. Cadorin remained on the team for one more season before forming her own rink in 2008 with Colleen Madonia, Janet Murphy and Kate Hamer.
