Julia Robinson (artist)
Julia Robinson is an Australian artist and arts educator based in Adelaide, South Australia. She lectures at Adelaide Central School of Art and her work has been included in the Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art in 2016 and ''The National (art exhibition), The National'' (New Australian Art) in 2019. Early life and education Julia Robinson was born in Adelaide in 1981 and studied visual arts at Adelaide Central School of Art. Artistic style and subject Robinson works in sculpture and installation art, using textiles and costuming techniques to produce her sculptures. She makes animal figures from scratch, using flywire, fabrics and other materials. Sex and death are major themes of her work and she draws her inspiration from folklore, mythology and the occult. Nathaniel Hawthorne
Nathaniel Hawthorne (né Hathorne; July 4, 1804 – May 19, 1864) was an American novelist and short story writer. His works often focus on history, morality, and religion. He was born in 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts, from a family long associated with that town. Hawthorne entered Bowdoin College in 1821, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 1824, and graduated in 1825. He published his first work in 1828, the novel ''Fanshawe (novel), Fanshawe''; he later tried to suppress it, feeling that it was not equal to the standard of his later work. He published several short stories in periodicals, which he collected in 1837 as ''Twice-Told Tales''. The following year, he became engaged to Sophia Hawthorne, Sophia Peabody. In visual art, mixed media describes artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed. Assemblages, collages, and sculpture are three common examples of art using different media. Nick Mitzevich
Nick Mitzevich (born 1970) is the director of the National Gallery of Australia (NGA) in Canberra, a position he has occupied since July 2018. From 2010 until his appointment to the NGA in April 2018, he was director of the Art Gallery of South Australia in Adelaide. Early life and education Nick Mitzevich was born in 1970. He is the son of Chrisoula, of Greek heritage, and Macedonian father Nick Mitzevich. Nick Jr is the eldest and only son, with three younger sisters, who all grew up on their parents' small farm at Abermain, outside Cessnock, in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. Roy Ananda
Roy Ananda is a South Australian artist and arts educator. He is Head of Drawing at Adelaide Central School of Art. Biography Roy Ananda was born in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1980. He has a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) from Adelaide Central School of Art and a Master of Arts from the University of South Australia. Ananda was the South Australian recipient of the Qantas Foundation Art Award in 2010. His work has featured in the 2012 Heysen Sculpture Biennial and the 2018 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art. The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA), formerly the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, is located on George Street, Sydney, George Street in The Rocks, Sydney, The Rocks neighbourhood of Sydney.
