Juju Stories
''Juju Stories'' is a three-part anthology film exploring juju (magical) stories rooted in Nigerian folklore and urban legend, written and directed by C.J. Obasi, Abba Makama and Michael Omonua. The film features three stories: "Love Potion" by Omonua, "YAM" by Makama, and "Suffer The Witch" by Obasi. It is scheduled for theatrical release in Nigeria on 21 January 2022. Abba Makama
Abba T. Makama is a Nigerian writer, director, visual artist and producer. He is known for directing ''Green White Green'' and ''The Lost Okoroshi''. He is the founder and the creative director of Osiris Film and Entertainment. His films focus on telling Nigerian stories to a global audience and illustrate how connected and similar the world is regardless of national boundaries. His work is largely inspired by dreams and Carl Jung, Jung’s theory of the collective unconscious. His work also explores theme of classism, spirituality, tradition and in genres such as comedy, drama, mockumentary, satire and magical realism. Abba is a co-founding member of the Surreal 16 collective. Inspired by the Danish cinema movement Dogme 95, Surreal 16 was born from a mutual admiration by three Nigerian filmmakers (Makama, C. J. Golden Leopard
The Golden Leopard () is the top prize at the Locarno International Film Festival, an international film festival held annually in Locarno, Switzerland since 1946. Directors in the process of getting an international reputation are allowed to be entered in the competitive selection. The winning films are chosen by a jury. 74th Locarno Film Festival
The 74th annual Locarno Festival was held from 4 August to 14 August 2021 in Locarno, Switzerland. The opening film of the festival was ''Beckett'' by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino, which had its world premiere on 4 August. The 74th edition of Locarno Film Festival hosted 14 films including 7 world premieres in Piazza Grande among which half were European productions. Adebukola Oladipupo or Bukola Oladipupo (born May 23, 1994) is a Nigerian actress who debuted on '' MTV Shuga''. Life Oladipupo was born in London and educated in Lagos. She has two siblings.
