Judith Gillespie
Judith Kyle Gillespie, Commander of the Order of the British Empire, CBE (born November 1962) is a retired senior police officer. She was the Deputy Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland between June 2009 and March 2014. Early life and education Gillespie was born and raised in North Belfast and was educated at Belfast Royal Academy She completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in public policy and Public administration, administration in 1992. She went on to study for a master's degree in applied criminology at the University of Cambridge, which she completed in 2005. Police career Gillespie began her policing career when she joined the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) in 1982 as a police constable. During her initial training at Enniskillen, she was awarded the Baton of Honour. She had previously been rejected by the RUC because of her gender. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding valuable service in a wide range of useful activities. Belfast Marathon
The Belfast City Marathon takes place in Belfast in Northern Ireland. The organisers describe it as the "largest mass sport participatory event in Northern Ireland" with between 15,000 and 18,000 participants taking part in several events. The Police Staff College, Bramshill, Bramshill House, Bramshill, (near Hook) Hampshire, England, was until 2015 the principal police staff training establishment in England and Wales. History The need for a training college for the police was pushed heavily by Sir Frank Newsam, who was the second most senior Home Office civil servant in the immediate post-war years.
