Jude Gitamondoc
Jude Gitamondoc (complete name Jude Thaddeus Gitamondoc) is a Filipino songwriter, record producer, and musical director based in Cebu, Philippines. He had won several awards including two Awit Awards, ABS-CBN's Himig Handog TFC Choice Award, StarStudio Reader's Choice Award, Cebu Pop Musical Festival, and Golden Screen Awards. He had composed, arranged, produced and/or contributed songs for Filipino singers and artists including Regine Velasquez, Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga, KC Concepcion, Gary Valenciano, Eric Santos, Kyla, among others. In addition, he was commissioned in the production of several musical plays both original and adaptations, including the Philippine Daily Inquirer's best musical play of 2017 ''Gugmang Giatay.'' He also co-founded the Visayan Pop Songwriting Campaign (Vispop), a yearly songwriting competition for songs written in Cebuano language. Hsing Yun
Hsing Yun () (born 19 August 1927) is a Chinese Buddhist monk. He is the founder of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order as well as the affiliated Buddha's Light International Association in Taiwan. Hsing Yun is considered to be one of the most prominent proponents of Humanistic Buddhism and is considered to be one of the most influential teachers of modern Taiwanese Buddhism. Mantawi Festival
The Mantawi Festival is an annual festival celebrated every on May 7th in Mandaue City in Cebu, Philippines. History The city of Mandaue and the festival is named after a tree that grew abundantly in the shores of the Cebu. The cove was founded by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan on April 7th, 1521 while in search for food and supplies. On the island a settlement was then built. Basil Valdez
Basil Salvador Valdez (; born 8 November 1951) is a Filipino singer. He has received several Tinig Awards and the 1991 Tanglaw ng Lahi Award from Ateneo de Manila University. Biography Like many Filipino singers in the 1970s, Basil S. Valdez started on a solo career as a folk singer. In 1972, he joined the Circus Band and soon after it disbanded, he released his first solo album entitled ''Ngayon at Kailanman''. While in the Circus Band, he met Ryan Cayabyab, who was then part of another band. When Valdez was preparing tracks for the album ''Ngayon at Kailanman'', he asked Cayabyab to collaborate with and write a few songs for him, which the composer did.
