Juan María Funes
Juan María Funes was a Guatemalan physician and surgeon who specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of Sexually transmitted infection, sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Within his specialty, he worked as a health administrator and researcher for the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance of Guatemala, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), and was also one of the main researchers involved in the Guatemala syphilis experiments, experiments on sexually transmitted diseases, conducted in Guatemala with human beings in the 1940s.
