Juan Manuel Villa
Juan Manuel Villa Gutiérrez (26 September 1938 – 5 January 2025) was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent the better part of his career with Real Zaragoza, winning three major trophies while scoring 70 goals from 233 competitive appearances. Club career Born in Seville, Andalusia, Villa joined the youth system of Real Madrid at the age of 15. He made his senior debut with their reserves in 1959. Villa never appeared in La Liga for the first team, his only two competitive matches being in the Copa del Generalísimo against Extremadura and Barcelona. He played in the competition with Real Sociedad and Real Zaragoza, totalling 183 games and 53 goals over the course of ten seasons before retiring in 1971 aged 32. The Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, most commonly referred to as the Fairs Cup and sometimes as the European Fairs Cup or Fairs Cities' Cup, was a European football competition played between 1955 and 1971. The Fairs Cup was the idea of FIFA vice-president and executive committee member Ernst Thommen, Italian Football Federation president and FIFA executive committee member Ottorino Barassi and English Football Association general secretary, Stanley Rous. As the name suggests, the competition was set up to promote international trade fairs. Friendly games were regularly held between teams from cities holding trade fairs and it was from these games that the competition evolved. Eleuterio Santos Brito (9 November 1940 – 28 January 2008) was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent the vast majority of his professional career with Real Zaragoza, appearing in 280 official games and scoring 96 goals. Club career Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Santos started playing with local CD Tenerife. He signed for Real Zaragoza in March 1963, going on to spend nine of his ten seasons with the club in La Liga and being part of an attacking frontline dubbed ''Los Magníficos'', which also featured Canário, Carlos Lapetra, Marcelino and Juan Manuel Villa. Marcelino Martínez Cao (; born 29 April 1940), known simply as Marcelino, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a striker. Club career Marcelino was born in Ares, Province of A Coruña, Galicia. In 1959, he signed with Real Zaragoza from local Racing de Ferrol, going on to remain with the former club until his retirement 11 years later. Carlos Lapetra Coarasa (29 November 1938 – 24 December 1995) was a Spanish Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. He spent ten of his 11 years as a professional with Real Zaragoza, Zaragoza, appearing in 279 competitive games (61 goals) and winning three major titles with the club.
