Juan Manuel Ley
Juan Manuel Ley López (February 17, 1933 – January 22, 2016) was a Mexican businessman, and the Casa Ley chairman. He was also president of the baseball teams Saraperos de Saltillo in the Mexican Summer League and Tomateros de Culiacán in the Mexican Winter League. In 1910, Ley's father, Lee Fong, left Guangdong province, China, by boat. When he arrived in Sinaloa city, he "Mexicanized" his name to Juan Ley Fong instead. Ley himself was born and raised in Mexico. Casa Ley
Casa Ley is a Mexican grocery store chain based in Culiacán founded in 1954 by Juan Ley Fong. Most of its stores are located in western Mexico, in the states of Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Coahuila, Durango, Guanajuato, and Baja California Sur. It is Mexico's largest privately held supermarket chain. For years, 49% of the chain was owned by American supermarket chain Safeway Inc., which later went to Albertsons, Albertsons Companies, Inc. after it acquired Safeway in 2015. In 2018, Albertsons divested its 49% share to Tenedora CL del Noroeste, ending the company's international operations. Saraperos De Saltillo
The Saraperos de Saltillo (English: Saltillo Serapes) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League. Their home ballpark is the Estadio de Béisbol Francisco I. Madero in Saltillo, Coahuila. They have won three championships (1980, 2009, and 2010). The 1979 Saraperos were recognized as one of the 100 greatest minor league teams of all time. The Tomateros de Culiacán () are a professional baseball team in the Mexican Pacific League based in Culiacán, Sinaloa. The ''Tomateros'' have won thirteen league championships and two Caribbean World Series in and . The team was founded in 1965 as part of the Sonora-Sinaloa League. The Salón de la Fama del Beisbol Mexicano (in English, Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame), commonly called the Salón de la Fama (Hall of Fame) is a baseball hall of fame and museum located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, inaugurated on 10 March 1973.
