Juan Manuel Fócil Pérez
Juan Manuel Fócil Pérez (born 12 June 1963) is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). He is a native of Villahermosa, Tabasco. In 2012–2015 he served as a Chamber of Deputies (Mexico), plurinominal deputy in the LXII Legislature of the Mexican Congress, 62nd Congress, representing the Electoral regions of Mexico, third electoral region, which includes his home state of Tabasco. In the 2018 Mexican general election, 2018 general election he was elected to the Senate (Mexico), Senate, representing the state of Tabasco for the 2018–2024 term. Fócil Pérez contended for the governor of Tabasco, governorship of Tabasco in the 2024 Mexican local elections, 2 June 2024 election, representing the PRD. 2024 Mexican Local Elections
The 2024 Mexican local elections were held on 2 June 2024, during which voters elected eight governors for six-year terms, the Head of Government of Mexico City for a six-year term, deputies for thirty-one state congresses, and officials for 1,580 municipalities. These elections took place concurrently with the country's general election. The National Regeneration Movement (), commonly referred to by its syllabic abbreviation Morena (), is a major left-wing political party in Mexico, often described as oscillating between social democracy and populism.
