President Of Navarre
The president of the Government of Navarre (), is the head of government of the devolved government of the Chartered Community of Navarre. Election Investiture processes to elect the regional president require for an absolute majority—more than half the votes cast—to be obtained in the first ballot. If unsuccessful, a new ballot will be held 24 hours later requiring only of a simple majority—more affirmative than negative votes—to succeed. If such majorities are not achieved, successive candidate proposals would be processed under the same procedure. In the event of the investiture process failing to elect a regional president within a three-month period from the election date, the Parliament will be automatically dissolved and a snap election called. Once the regional president is elected, he or she is appointed by Royal Decree of the Monarch, countersigned by the Prime Minister. Estella-Lizarra
Estella (Spanish language, Spanish) or Lizarra (Basque language, Basque) is a town located in the autonomous community of Navarre, in northern Spain. It lies south west of Pamplona, close to the border with La Rioja (autonomous community), La Rioja and Álava. The town was founded in 1090 when the place, lying by the fortified settlement of Lizarra, was granted a charter by the Pamplonese king Sancho Ramirez. The town became a landmark in the Way of St. James pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, thriving on the privileged location and the melting pot of ''Francos'' called in by Navarrese kings (mainly Occitan language#Occitan in Spain, Occitans from Auvergne and Limousin), Jews and the original Basque people, Navarrese inhabitants. The wealth resulted in a development of Romanesque architecture, well represented in the town: Church of San Pedro de la Rúa, Palacio de los Reyes de Navarra (Estella), Palacio de los Reyes de Navarra, Church of San Miguel, among others. Navarre
Navarre ( ; ; ), officially the Chartered Community of Navarre, is a landlocked foral autonomous community and province in northern Spain, bordering the Basque Autonomous Community, La Rioja, and Aragon in Spain and New Aquitaine in France. The capital city is Pamplona (). The present-day province makes up the majority of the territory of the medieval Kingdom of Navarre, a long-standing Pyrenean kingdom that occupied lands on both sides of the western Pyrenees, with its northernmost part, Lower Navarre, located in the southwest corner of France. Navarre is in the transition zone between the green Cantabrian Coast and semi-arid interior areas and thus its landscapes vary widely across the region. Being in a transition zone also produces a highly variable climate, with summers that are a mix of cooler spells and heat waves, and winters that are mild for the latitude. Navarre is one of the historic Basque provinces: its Basque features are conspicuous in the north, but vi ...
