Juan Joya
Juan Joya Cordero (February 25, 1934 – March 29, 2007) was a Peruvian association football player, recognized as one of Peru's most important strikers. He was a historic forward of the Club Atlético Peñarol of Uruguay in the 1960s, one of the best South American teams of the twentieth century. During his time with Club Atlético Peñarol, he won 6 Uruguayan league championships, two Copa Libertadores, two Intercontinental Cups, and one Intercontinental Champions' Supercup. He was considered one of the best wingers in the world in the 1960s, and remains one of the most famous Peruvian footballers of all time. Joya also played for Alianza Lima, Juan Aurich and River Plate. Early life Joya was born in Lima, where he started his playing career in the youth team of Alianza Lima. Estadio Centenario is a stadium in the Parque Batlle of Montevideo, Uruguay, used primarily for football. Ermindo Onega
Ermindo Ángel Onega (30 April 1940 – 21 December 1979) was an Argentine footballer, attacking midfielder and forward from River Plate. He played for River Plate from 1957 to 1968, scoring 98 goals in 222 matches. In 1972, he played for Club Atlético Vélez Sársfield, scoring 6 goals in 30 matches. Julio César Abbadie Gismero (7 September 1930 – 16 July 2014) was a Uruguayan footballer who played as a forward. During his career, he played for Peñarol, where he won the 1966 Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup. He was born in Uruguay to French father and Spanish mother. Pedro Virgilio Rocha Franchetti (; 3 December 1942 – 2 December 2013) was a Uruguayan footballer who played 52 games for the Uruguay national team between 1961 and 1974. Biography He is the only player to appear in four consecutive World Cups for the Uruguay national football team: 1962, 1966, 1970 and 1974. He also played in the Copa América in 1967. At club level he played most of his career for Peñarol and São Paulo in Brazil. Roberto Scarone
Roberto Scarone Rivera (16 July 1917 – 25 April 1994) was a Uruguayan football player and manager. He is mainly known for his successful managing spell at the helm of the Uruguayan powerhouse Peñarol in the early 1960s. Career Scarone started playing professionally at his hometown club Peñarol in the 1930s. In 1939, at the age of 22, he moved to Gimnasia La Plata in Argentina where he spent four seasons. Between 1943 and 1947 he had spells with Mexican sides América and Atlante before coming back to Gimnasia in 1948.
