Juan Bromley
Juan C. Bromley Seminario (Callao; – Lima; ) was a Peruvian historian and lawyer. He served as municipal secretary in the Municipality of Lima, urban planning researcher in the city of Lima, and was also president of various Peruvian soccer clubs. Biography Born in Callao, he was a Graduate of Letters and Law from the National University of San Marcos. Until he was 65 years old, he worked in seventeen council positions for the Municipality of Lima. He received the gold medal for The Royal Standard of the City of Lima in 1927 and the grand prize of the historical contest of the fourth centennial of Lima in 1935. He was a sports leader and between 1927 and 1931 he presided over the Club Alianza Lima, as well as founding president of Deportivo Municipal and president of the Peruvian Football Federation between 1944 and 1948. Callao
Callao () is a Peruvian seaside city and Regions of Peru, region on the Pacific Ocean in the Lima metropolitan area. The Peruvian Football Federation ( or ) is the body that governs Association football in Peru. It was founded on August 23, 1922, and affiliated with FIFA in 1924. It is a member of CONMEBOL since 1925, and directly oversees the Peru national football team, futsal team youth teams, Peruvian Primera División, and the amateur leagues. The Peruvian National football team has won two Copa Américas, six Bolivarian Games titles and qualified for the FIFA World Cup five times. History Of Lima
The history of Lima, the capital of Peru, began with its foundation by Francisco Pizarro on January 18, 1535. The city was established on the valley of the Rímac River in an area populated by the Ichma polity. It became the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru and site of a ''Real Audiencia'' in 1543. In the 17th century, the city prospered as the center of an extensive trade network despite damage from earthquakes and the threat of pirates. However, prosperity came to an end in the 18th century due to an economic downturn and the Bourbon Reforms. The population of Lima played an ambivalent role in the 1821–1824 Peruvian War of Independence; the city suffered exactions from Royalist and Patriot armies alike. The Cabildo of Lima () was the governing body of Lima and, since 1874, its intendancy.
