Joyner is a suburb in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Brisbane metropolitan area. In the , Joyner had a population of 3,600 people. Geography Joyner is located east of, and is contiguous with Lake Samsonvale. The area was originally known as Harrisons Pocket before the modern day adaptation and implementation of the name Joyner. Joyzelle Joyner (August 27, 1905 – November 30, 1980) was an American actress and dancer. She appeared in at least thirty films between 1925 and 1935, garnering some notoriety for her appearance in '' The Sign of the Cross''. Career Joyner began appearing in films around 1924 or 1925, often playing dancers. Her first major role in a major motion picture came in 1930, when she appeared as twin queens of Mars, Boo Boo and Loo Loo in '' Just Imagine''. Her role as Ancaria in ''The Sign of the Cross'', a major production directed by Cecil B. deMille, drew attention from censors; in the film, she performed the lesbian-overtoned "Dance of the Naked Moon". The scene was eliminated from the re-released 1935 version of the film, but reinserted in 1993 for the MCA-Universal video version. Joyner is the former host of the nationally syndicated '' The Tom Joyner Morning Show'', and also founder of Reach Media Inc., the Tom Joyner Foundation, and BlackAmericaWeb.com. Early life Joyner was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, the son of Frances and Hercules L. Joyner. Seth Joyner (born November 18, 1964), is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos. Joyner graduated from Spring Valley High School and played college football for the UTEP Miners. Rick Joyner (born 1949) is an American public speaker and author. He founded MorningStar Ministries with his wife in 1985. Morningstar Ministries Joyner was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. With his wife, Julie, he founded MorningStar Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1985. By the mid-1990s Joyner was president of MorningStar Publications, located at that time in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lionel Berry Joyner (1932-2001) was a Canadian chess master. He won the 1961 Canadian Chess Championship and was a Canadian Open Chess Championship medalist (1964). He also represented Canada at the 1951 World Junior Chess Championship and at the 1958 Chess Olympiad.
