The Dramatics
The Dramatics are an American soul music vocal group, formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1964. They are best known for their 1970s hit songs "In the Rain" and " Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get", both of which were Top 10 Pop hits, as well as their later 1993 collaboration " Doggy Dogg World" with Snoop Dogg, a top 20 hit on the ''Billboard'' Rhythmic Top 40. Career The Dramatics, founded by Ron Banks (May 10, 1951 – March 4, 2010), Larry Demps, Rod Davis, Elbert Wilkins and Larry Reed, originally formed in 1964. They were originally known as the Sensations, but changed their billing to the Dramatics in 1965. Their first release in 1965 entitled "Bingo" was recorded for Wingate, a division of Golden World Records in Detroit, Michigan. By 1967, Motown had absorbed the entire Golden World Records operation. Michael Henderson
Michael Earl Henderson (July 7, 1951 – July 19, 2022) was an American bass guitarist and vocalist. He was known for his work with Miles Davis in the early 1970s and on early fusion albums such as '' Jack Johnson'', '' Live-Evil'', and ''Agharta'', along with a series of his own R&B/soul hits and others featuring him on vocals, particularly the Norman Connors-produced hit " You Are My Starship" in 1976 and other songs in the mid to late-1970s. Early life Michael Earl Henderson was born on July 7, 1951, in Yazoo City, Mississippi. In the early 1960s he moved to Detroit, playing as a session musician. Garry Glenn (May 12, 1955 – September 27, 1991) was an American singer, songwriter and musician best known for his association with his songwriting partner Dianne Quander and wrote the hit song " Caught Up in the Rapture", recorded by Anita Baker in 1986. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. In music, a single is a type of release, typically a song recording of fewer tracks than an LP record or an album. One can be released for sale to the public in a variety of formats. In most cases, a single is a song that is released separately from an album, although it usually also appears on an album. In other cases a recording released as a single may not appear on an album. Despite being referred to as a single, in the era of music downloads, singles can include up to as many as three tracks. The biggest digital music distributor, the iTunes Store, accepts as many as three tracks that are less than ten minutes each as a single. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands.
